Description

Situated just outside of Cape Town, Tygerberg Nature Reserve is a popular reserve with striking views. The 740-acre reserve hosts walking paths, picnicking, bird-watching, and wildlife viewing close to the metro area. As with all South African nature reserves, visitors here will find a variety of rare vegetation and unique animals. There is a fee to enter this reserve.     Good for hiking and trail running, great spots to take a break and enjoy the views of Table Mountain. There is no shade on this trail so in the summer a hat is a must. In the winter the rain makes this trail a bit slippery. There is parking at the gate but not a lot so an early arrival is advised or be prepared to start this hike much earlier, further down the road.
