Tunkhannock Reviews
Rating 4.12 out of 5 17 reviews
I've lived here since 2008, and I love it here! We have a lot of parks and places to appreciate nature, which I particularly love.
Tunkhannock has the stereotypical small-town America feel. Although it has its problems at times, I would not choose any place else to be my hometown.
I absolutely love this town. I moved here when I was about 13 years old and spent my most formative years here. A small town in the Appalachian Mountains, Tunkhannock offers a sense of community that I have never felt in the other places I have lived. The friendships that have formed here have lasted through difficult times and I feel as if I truly belong somewhere. I am happy to call Tunkhannock home.
The downside to living in a small, rural area can be that the folks around here remain resistant to change. As our social landscape continues to develop after the Covid-19 pandemic, I feel as though this community could be more accepting of people different from themselves. A bit more optimism, open-mindedness and acceptance could really go along in a town where community can be so strong.
