What travelers are saying
- Amy J11 contributionsThis place is amazing! We nearly had the entire house and grounds to ourselves on a beautiful Saturday morning. It looks like a villa in Italy. Absolutely stunning gardens. The art collection is extensive too. The neighborhood homes around it are extremely impressive too.Written April 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - beth ann kHalstead, KS1,906 contributionsWe enjoyed our visit but we had to keep doubling back. Some areas were blocked off so it became confusing. We ate lunch there and the food was surprisingly good.

My wife and I neglected to read that part and just showed up one day. Fortunately, the owner and storyteller, Linda, was there and was just saying goodbye to her daughter.
We asked if we could have a tour and she kindly said yes.
This place has an incredibly fascinating history! I won't give it away, but Linda will tell you in the most riveting way.
The decor is artistic and eclectic with strange objects around every corner. She's also built in some fun interactive things as well.
But where this tour shines is sitting down in the living room with Linda and listening to her stories of the people, the history, and the visitors who have graced this wonderful house.
The Tulsa Cave House is amazing, but the true magic is Linda!Written September 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TristanEast Providence, RI131 contributionsA fascinating look at Woody Guthrie's life, the times he lived in, the songs he wrote, and the people he influenced. We had a great tour guide (hi, Sam!) who brought it to life. The centerpiece is Woody's handwritten lyrics to "This Land is Your Land," which prompts a discussion about his progressive politics and the radical way he challenged the status quo in his work even while elevating the value of all Americans. Allow 2-ish hours for the full experience.Written April 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- tamichawk84Topeka, KS94 contributionsThis was cool for kids and adults. Lots of interactive fun exhibits, combines older and newer experiences. Great bones here, a little more investment could really take this place to the next level. Just a little updating could go a long way…definitely go if you have kids.Written July 15, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - FoodangeManchester, UK2,891 contributionsAmazing landmark which looks brand new, despite being constructed in 1966.
Could have done with a bit more information about it, such as why it was there, who designed and built it, what it was made of.Written September 1, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. To fellow Trip Advisor fans we can't recommend this stop highly enough. Three hours went by very quickly as WK introduced us to so many machines with great stories. My companion, a sewing machine collector also, was totally impressed with all the restorations, projects and impeccable functionality of that many machines.
We were even more impressed with WK, the person, and his vast knowledge and focus on "giving". The mission of the "M", as they call the museum, is to introduce kids to the world of sewing as well as collecting and restoring machines. The basement also has industrial machines that the kids can learn on and make lovely things. Anyone can bring something to sew and use machines.
It's an experience you won't believe and you won't be disappointed.Written March 19, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Came back next day explored Gathering Place area- which is huge and super impressive! Very family friendly-so much to do!Written October 24, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
