Someone to add in notes that it was released and given for free by Greek newspaper "Espresso".

This album was blasted by the critics, largely because the band had been around long enough at this point that there were no hipster points to be gained by praising them anymore. The film that accompanied this release was also blasted.

Well sod them. This is another excellent Talking Heads album. It is unique in their canon in that it is the closest they ever came to straight rock music, which was the chief complaint leveled against them. It's also a dumb complaint. The polyrhythms of the early 80's may be mostly gone at this point, but rather than repeating themselves, the band tried something new. "Love For Sale" is a tremendous rocker, but just as off-kilter and paranoid as their best music, and the lyrics are a hoot too. "City of Dreams" is autumnal and elegiac, and it gains resonance with passing time. "Dream Operator" is one of the prettiest pieces of music the band ever made. 'Wild Wild Life" is pure fun. "Puzzlin' Evidence" rides a great gospel rock groove. "People Like Us" might sound like a smug jab at rednecks, but it is actually empathetic, generous of spirit, and sharply written. Nothing here is bad, and most of it is great.

It isn't the same sound of the 70's and early-80's band, but there is no deterioration of wit or commitment in the music.

And don't skip the movie, the essence of which is captured in "People Like Us". Funny, insightful, and charming in its own way, as well as ultimately prescient.

Very good, clean out of the paper sleeve and sound quality is on point. I guess I got lucky with the non fill thing.

Absolutely SUPERB reissue. The pressing quality is the pinnacle of what can be achieved today. This is Record Industry at their best offering better than UHQR/1Step noise floor for 1/6th of the price. And then theres the fresh mastering. No IGD and a very agreeable clarity to everything even on my humbler 2M red equipped rig. Incredibly good, one of the best modern records ive bought in 2023

First copy had some audibly unpleasant non fill rips which were even visible to the eye. The retailer Rough Trade UK was kind enough to open a replacement (huge props to this excellent record store once again) and inspect before sending it out to me and its free of any groove defects. The disc is bang on centre and all but flat while playback exhibits no noise at all... usual hallmarks of Record Industry! This is essentially just as excellent as the black version counterpart ive waxxed lyrical over so it sounds great and plays great and hey... IT IS GREAT!!

Unhappy about the production quality (common with colored vinyl), warp and a few pock marks, but otherwise it really sounds great. Mastering was performed well, I like this a lot.

Anyone happen to know how the sound quality on this bad boy is? Better than the OG? Update: As of 10/15 I have purchased a copy and spun it twice. Once with headphones and again on speakers, and it sounds awesome! Good and punchy. Very pleased, the color is great too

Never been the biggest fan of True Stories, but talking heads is talking heads and it’s good fun. Got a cool poster though!

This is a nice sounding direct metal mastering DMM edition of this album and sounds very good. The sound is well balanced and crisp.

My family listened to this album non stop when I was a child. “Love for sale” especially inspired me to play music and dabble in sound and performance as did watching “stop making sense”

Listening back though I get the feeling that the band (or at least David) was very much trying to emulate the Athens Georgia sound. Does anyone else see/hear that?
