Senior Mechanical Engineer

The Senior Design Engineer is responsible for creating and documenting mechanical designs. This requires demonstrated proficiency in using 3D modeling and 2D drafting programs at the “expert” level. The Design Engineer must be capable of working independently to complete projects on time and within budget. Education and Experience: 1. Must be proficient in the use of Solid Works. Formal training from a recognized training partner and/or Solid Works Certification a plus. 2. Must have EITHER a. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and five years of experience employed as a mechanical designer involved in machine design and new product development. OR b. Fifteen years experience employed as a mechanical designer involved in machine design and new product development with other formal training in mechanical design engineering. 3. Work experience in the mechanical design of automation systems is desirable. Duties: 1. Manage design projects including instructing subordinates, keeping within budget and schedule, and preparing progress reports. 2. Perform engineering analyses to determine loads, moments and stresses in new and existing designs. 3. Perform thermal and thermodynamic analyses of engineered systems as required. 4. Select motors, actuators, and drive system components for automation and other dynamic systems. 5. Provide estimates for engineering, design and drafting time required for new design projects. 6. Meet with current and prospective Triumph clients to obtain information on new projects. Generate proposals for performing the work discussed. 7. Create 3D models of manufactured parts, purchased parts, sheet metal parts, and assemblies of parts using good modeling techniques, 8. Create 2D drawings from 3D part models using appropriate GD&T callouts to meet design requirements and manufacturing capabilities. 9. Create 2D drawings from 3D assemblies including linked bill of materials and assembly instructions and process notes as required

Senior Designer

The Senior Designer is responsible for creating design documentation for mechanical components and systems. This requires demonstrated proficiency in using 3D modeling and 2D drafting programs at the “expert” level. The Senior Designer will also develop new designs under the guidance of design entineers. Education and Experience: 1. Must be proficient in the use of Solid Works. Formal training from a recognized training partner and/or Solid Works Certification a plus. 2. Must have five to ten years experience employed as a mechanical designer involved in machine design and new product development. Duties: 1. Create 3D models of manufactured parts using good modeling techniques, including, but not limited to, machined parts, sheet metal parts, and molded plastic parts. 2. Create, or acquire from manufacturer’s websites, 3D models of commercially available standard parts. 3. Create assemblies of 3D part models using good modeling techniques to ensure that parts are properly and fully constrained. 4. Create welded subassemblies of 3D part models using good modeling techniques. 5. Create 2D drawings from 3D part models using appropriate GD&T callouts to meet design requirements and manufacturing capabilities. 6. Create 2D drawings from 3D assemblies including linked bill of materials and assembly instructions and process notes as required. Education and Experience: 1.
