If you are an elitist social climber you will like Trinity. If you come from immense wealth and a Boston area Prep school you will like it. That being said many of the students here are lazy prep school kids with behavioral issues. Psi U, Alpha Delta, Stella Society, Ivy Society, and Kappa (KKG) create a toxic campus culture and they are incredibly rude and lazy inside and outside the classroom. The lack of effort by the Trinity football players in the classroom is disappointing and unacceptable. The volleyball team is lazy academically here as well. Coaches call up professors to work things out with their struggling student athletes. Members of Greek Life and athletes (those that pay full tuition mostly) do get special treatment by instructors and admin. The above Greek organizations at Trinity create a toxic social environment and ruin the social and academic experience here. Greek Life should be eliminated at Trinity since it ruins the academic integrity and experience.
Just a brutal social environment. The students here treat each other terribly unless you're part of Greek Life or a varsity sports team it's hard to meet good people here. Some students use Chat GPT to summarize the readings and write papers here which is unacceptable. Instructors and admin give special treatment to members of Greek Life and Varsity athletes even though they put little to no effort into their school work. It truly feels like a corrupt and fraudulent environment here. Kids that partied their way through here and skipped class land big bank jobs. Not fair. Admin instead of building the new athletic center should have improved the terrible food and fired ChartWells. Further, the dorms are nasty, so unless you live in townhouse or off campus housing you have disgusting living conditions and community bathrooms that need renovation. Little to no racial and socioeconomic diversity at Trinity. Mostly lazy, rich white kids from posh Boston suburbs. Get rid of Greek Life.
Greek Life creates an elitist space on campus and creates division among the student body. Hazing is a major issue in the fraternities here. There is not enough diversity among the student body. There are too many varsity athletes and high socioeconomic status students. The student body for the most part is very cliquey, tense, aloof, and standoffish. The culture among the student body is disappointing. The lack of engagement and effort among students in the classroom is also disappointing. Many athletes and Greek Life students get passed in classes with little effort. More investment should have been made in hiring a better dining service provider and improving student dorms. The only nice dorms on campus are the Townhouses and those are not easy to obtain even as an upperclassmen. The excessive party scene/culture takes away from the academic experience here.
