Premise[]

Life for the Gang is boring after they take down the mastermind behind many of their greatest villains. But suddenly they are attacked by doppelgangers of themselves! Can Scooby-Doo and the Gang solve the mystery after many of their old foes run amok in Coolsville at Halloween?

Synopsis[]

After solving their latest case involving the Cat Man of Nepal, Mystery Inc. traces the Cat Man's costume and the costumes from their previous cases to fashion designer Coco Diablo and have her arrested. Notes/Trivia[]

  • The movie was released on five dates in October 2022:
    • Digital download on October 4
    • New York Comic Con on October 7
    • Cartoon Network on October 14
    • HBO Max on October 15, and
    • DVD on October 18.
  • It is the first DTV to use the animation style of Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?
  • The name Coco Diablo appears to be partially based on legendary fashion designer Coco Chanel. Just as Coco Diablo is jailed for enabling criminals, Coco Chanel was suspected of betraying France to the Nazis, but was never formally charged.
  • Coolsville (first mentioned in A Pup Named Scooby-Doo) has been restored as the gang's hometown, whereas in the previous few DTVs, their Mystery Incorporated counterparts' hometown was Crystal Cove from Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated. The general unwritten rule is that Coolsville is used in lighthearted versions, while Crystal Cove is used in stories with a darker tone.
  • One of the costumes in Trevor's shop is Freddy Krueger's outfit from A Nightmare on Elm Street horror film franchise.
  • This is the first time Velma is portrayed as explicitly non-heterosexual, as demonstrated by her attraction to Coco Diablo.
  • The first official Scooby-Doo material to allude to the fact that some of the Scooby-Doo villains' costumes were created by a common manufacturer was DC Comics' "Costume Caper!". In it, the villains had mail-ordered their costumes from the Horne Costume Company, run by Harriet Horne (a woman company owner, much like Coco Diablo).

Animation errors/technical glitches[]

  • During the chase scene in the library, there is a brief moment where Coco's turtleneck is purple instead of it's usual maroon-red color.

Inconsistencies/continuity errors and/or goofs/oddities[]

  • This movie suggests that all the past villains now incarcerated in the Coolsville Penitentiary were operating and arrested in Coolsville, which is simply not correct. The localities of these villains varried.
  • The prison scene featured Sarah Jenkins in prison, but in "Foul Play in Funland", she wasn't arrested for sabotaging Charlie the Robot. In fact, her brother, as well as the Scooby gang, agreed that, for safety reasons, Charlie was not fit to control a place where kids came to have fun.
    • Then again, Charlie was seen active again in "Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?"
    • Igor was even seen with the other prisoners, even though he wasn't arrested in the episode A Halloween Hassle at Dracula's Castle. He was praised by the monsters for doing something evil.

Quotes[]

Shaggy: Hey ghouls! Don't forget about me and Scooby-Doo!
Scooby: Yeah. This whole franchise was named after me.
