Trevor Lawrence marries Marissa Mowry after skipping NFL Draft event

Trevor Lawrence is officially a married man after tying the knot with longtime girlfriend Marissa Mowry on Saturday.

The former Clemson star quarterback and the Anderson University soccer alum wed at a chapel in Bluffton, S.C., according to TigerNet.com.

The ceremony took place nine months after the couple announced their engagement.

Mowry shared photos of the ceremony to Instagram on Sunday.

“My love forever,” Mowry wrote.

Lawrence, the presumptive No. 1 pick in this month’s 2021 NFL Draft, opted out of NFL Draft medical testing in Indianapolis last week to prepare for the wedding.

Two days before the wedding, Lawrence and Mowry attended the Masters in Augusta, Ga., where they were photographed alongside Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

The 21-year-old Lawrence proposed to Mowry in July 2020, at Clemson’s home field at Memorial Stadium in South Carolina.

Mowry, also 21, said the field was the “only place” the couple wanted their “proposal story” to happen.

In a heartfelt post on Instagram, following the couple’s engagement in July, Mowry explained, “I know to many it looks like a football guy proposing to his girlfriend on the field he’s made so many memories at.. It’s really the opposite though. The choice to go to Clemson is what opened the door to our future together. This stadium means so much more than the tangible gifts it’s given us,” she continued, later adding, “It’s not just a field or a stadium, but a place our Father used as a vessel through a gift he gave Trevor to grow our relationship with him and with one another.”

Prior to tying the knot, Lawrence — who’s been with Mowry since at least early 2016, according to her Instagram — celebrated his bachelor party in Vegas in March.

It’s unclear if the newlyweds will enjoy a proper honeymoon, with the NFL Draft in Cleveland slated for April 29.

Lawrence, who will watch the draft from Clemson with friends and family, also is recovering from a torn labrum in his left shoulder, in which he underwent surgery on February 16.

Ahead of his wedding weekend, NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported that while he’s “not 100 percent,” Lawrence’s rehab process is “going very well.”
