Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker: A Complete Relationship Timeline

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker have been public about all facets of their relationship, from very overt displays of PDA to their struggles to conceive a child together. What with raunchy declarations of love and full-on chest tattoos, at least they’re not boring. And now they’re married and expecting their first child together. Here’s a complete timeline of their relationship.

2015

The Blink-182 drummer tells Us Weekly about his “crush” on Kourtney’s sister, Kim Kardashian, whom he met when he was dating Paris Hilton years prior. “How could you not stare at Kim?” he said at the time. “Mind you, I enjoyed hanging out with Paris, but I love curvy girls. Kim was eye candy. I was no way disrespectful to Paris, but I couldn’t keep my eyes off Kim!”

He even claims Kim came to him for advice when she was approached by Ryan Seacrest with the original idea for Keeping Up With the Kardashians. “‘I think my family is interesting and it could be something,’” he recalled Kim saying. “I gave her the best advice I could.” 

2015–2020

In February 2019, Kourtney and Travis spark dating rumors when they are spotted grabbing dinner in Malibu, though it's been reported the two have been friends “for years.” It’s worth noting that they both live in the same gated community in Calabasas, California, and the drummer even appeared on KUWTK and Kocktails With Khloé. 

2021

January 2021: Fans start speculating after Travis left a rose emoji in the comments of one of Kourtney’s mirror selfies, dropped a mermaid emoji on another pic, and commented, “You’re so cool,” on another. Buzz got much louder when each posted photos from the same hang at Kris Jenner’s home in Palm Springs.

“Kourtney and Travis have had a platonic relationship for years and they’ve been friends and family friends for a very long time,” a source told Entertainment Tonight. “Recently something sparked and their relationship has turned romantic.”

February 2021: This is when the fun truly starts. On February 17 the pair goes Instagram official. 

Travis clearly loves emojis: He commented on this one with a red heart. 

March 2021: Travis moves on from emojis to gushing about his girlfriend on The Drew Barrymore Show. “I’m spending time with a woman who’s a great mom, who’s a great friend, and you don’t have to worry about any of those things,” Barker told Barrymore. “It just comes natural, it’s like a maturity thing.”

On March 27, Kourtney and her boyfriend go on a double date with actor Megan Fox and her “twin flame,” rapper Machine Gun Kelly, to an MMA fight in Vegas. 

April 2021: Early in the month, the pair takes another trip—this time to the mountains. Though they didn’t share any photos as a pair, they were clearly in the same place based on their Instagram activity. 

By April 9, however, the couple gets a lot less coy. And by less coy, we mean Kourtney shared a photo of Travis Barker’s chest, which now includes a permanent tattoo of her name. 

The next day Travis shares a photo of himself drumming with the caption, “All day I dream about sex w/ you,” which many fans have deduced are lyrics from the Korn song “A.D.I.D.A.S.” Still, it’s worth noting that he tagged Kourtney. Was she in the photo? No. Was she the photographer? Also no. 

So yeah, things were heating up even before Travis Barker’s NSFW declaration of love. In honor of Kourtney’s 42nd birthday, the musician went all out. First he decorated her home in a magnificent arrangement of tulips and gardenias, which Kourtney noted are her “favorite flowers.”

Then came the viral Instagram tribute, which included pictures of the pair making out. A video even shows the Poosh mogul sucking on her boyfriend’s thumb. “I FUCKING LOVE YOU! 🖤
YOU’RE A BLESSING TO THIS WORLD,” he captioned the post. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY.” 

May 2021: Barker refers to Kardashian as the “love of my life” in the comments section of his Instagram. On May 22, he shares a series of photos of a family trip to Disneyland, including a pic of the couple holding hands on a carousel. “Happiest Place on Earth,” he captioned the post. 

“Happiest ❤️,” Kardashian responded in the comments section, to which Barker replied, “with the love of my life.”

Another big move for Kardashian was her new home in Palm Springs! According to Us Weekly, Kourtney Kardashian purchased a six-bedroom home in California for over $10 million. The sprawling estate was featured in her Instagram Stories over Memorial Day weekend, which she spent with her kids and, of course, Travis Barker. You can see the pics here. 

June 2021: Kardashian once again shows her…commitment to Barker by posting a photo of a vial of his blood. Why, you ask? Still a mystery. But we do know this: You have to really love someone to think their blood is worthy of a heart emoji.

July 2021: Travis Barker’s daughter gives even more credence to the fan theory that Kardashian and Barker got married in secret by referring to Kourtney as her “stepmom.” Per People, 15-year-old Alabama was playing Never Have I Ever on Instagram Live when she was asked if she’s ever met a Kardashian. She replied, “That’s my stepmom.” So sweet!

August 2021: Following a trip to Cabo, the couple keeps the party going over in Italy—and things get steamy.

In late August, Kardashian’s ex, Scott Disick, decides to (allegedly) insert himself into the couple’s narrative. Disick reportedly sent a DM to Kardashian’s other ex, Youndes Bendjima, complaining about her PDA with Barker. Bendjima shared a screenshot of the alleged DM to his IG Stories. The text eloquently reads, “Yo is this chick ok!??? Brooo like what is this. In the middle of Italy.” 

The screenshot also includes Bendjima’s response: “Doesn’t matter to me as long as shes happy. PS: i ain’t your bro.” Kardashian and Barker haven’t officially commented on Disick’s unrequested commentary, but a source told E! News that Kardashian is not thrilled about this, but also “not surprised.”

September 2021: “Forever isn’t long enough,” Travis Barker captions a series of sweet pics from his and Kourtney’s trip to Paris on September 3.

On September 16, Kim Kardashian addresses Kourtney and Travis’s PDA on Ellen. “It’s a lot, but it’s so cute,” she says. “I love love, and I love them.” She also says that Travis is “such a big part of Kourtney’s life.” 

On September 17, Kourtney Kardashian gives her fans a taste of her Instagram life versus the “reality.” In the first image Kardashian is dressed up to the nines with a full face of makeup, and in the second, she’s lying down in bed with Barker as they both treat their bare skin with face masks. 

October 2021: Barker is a big fan of Kourtney’s skull. In a PDA-filled post from October 11, the pair gets cozy in front of a pirate ship at Disneyland. “I want your skull,” he captioned the post, which is pretty dramatic.  

On October 15 the pair wear matching black looks and appear to be completely in sync for a date night in New York City.

On October 17 the couple announce their engagement. 

November 2021: A month after their engagement, Barker and Kardashian throw a very extravagant date night on the beach. Kardashian shares multiple photos and a video of their candlelit viewing of Home Alone on Instagram. The movie night ends with a fireworks display.

“Best night ever,” Barker wrote on Instagram Stories, per People. “Love you forever @kourtneykardash.”

December 2021: It seems Travis Barker has truly become part of the family, even in the eyes of Kris Jenner. On December 24 the Kardashian-Jenner matriarch releases a cover of James Lord Pierpont’s “Jingle Bells” featuring Kourtney on the bells and Barker on drums. “A little fun in the studio with the iconic legendary queen @KrisJenner,” Kourtney wrote in her Instagram Stories, per People. “Me on the jingle bells and @TravisBarker on the drums of course.”

2022

March 2022: A trailer for the family’s new Hulu show The Kardashians reveals that the pair want to have a baby together. In the video Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker are seen at some kind of doctor’s appointment, for which Travis has to provide “a sample.”

April 2022: Surprise! Kravis is married, according to reports by TMZ. The emo-chic power couple exchange vows in Las Vegas hours after Barker performed on stage at the 2022 Grammy Awards. The newlyweds got hitched in a “practice ceremony” that took place in a small chapel and was officiated by an Elvis Presley impersonator, which, all things considered, is very on brand. However, the couple did not file for a marriage license so it was not legally binding. 

May 2022: Now they are married. The couple marry for real in Santa Barbara on Sunday, May 15. However, it’s only the second stop on their wedding tour. “They had to legally get married first ahead of their big Italian wedding, which is happening very soon,” the source tells People. “All the details are set and the whole family, including all the kids, are very excited.”

Just a few weeks later, the entire Kardashian-Jenner clan make their way to Portofino, Italy, for the couple’s most lavish wedding ceremony yet. On May 22, the couple say “I do” for the third time on the Dolce & Gabbana’s L’Ulivetta grounds before relocating to historic Castello Brown for the reception. “Happily ever after,” Kourtney captioned a series of photos from the ceremony, including Kravis’s “first” kiss as husband and wife.

June 2023: After a public journey with IVF, the couple confirms they are pregnant. Kourtney broke the news on Friday, June 16, by holding up a handwritten sign that read “Travis I’m Pregnant!” at Barker’s Los Angeles Blink-182 show. In the IG video, a beaming Kourtney Kardashian jumps up and down waving the sign around until it catches the attention of the band. A visibly surprised Barker hops down from his post on stage to embrace his bride while everyone cheers. Fans of the rock band will know the sign is a play on the band’s 1999 “All the Small Things” video in which a Blink-182 fan holds up a sign saying the same thing.
