Hi are there any fellow weirdos who exclusively use .22 PCP for HFT?What pellets do you use?I am currently using AAFD 5.52mm 16 grain but I want to try some JSB equivalent,s.This current batch are very accurate in my S400 F.Any advice greatly welcome,I have tested the JSB 15.89 Grain 5.52mm with similar results Many thanks.Tony

Why do you want to change pellet when the ones you are currently using are 'very accurate' ?

Just looking for a slightly lighter pellet to try as AADF are 16.2 grain average but I have to say they are accurate.I just find it a bit funny that the .22 (HFT crowd) all seems to use JSB .22 ,are they more accurate, are they cheaper, are they easier to source in bulk with same batch/die numbers?Just really to have a full picture of what .22 ammo is being used and availability. Thanks for replying.Tony

Not heard great thing about the lighter JSB in .22 but what suits one rifle can be hideous in another.Cheets for your in put .....I think it's test tin time and a 50 yard target and accuracy and chrono crunching.

Jumbo RS or Falcon Accuracy Plus. Both 13.4 but only if you believe whats written on the tin. 13.4,5or6 usually but with the occasional 13.3 and 13.7, plus the odd wild one. Can't be doing with loopy trajectory.
Whatever you use I would weigh them into batches. Doesn't make much difference until you get two at either end of the scale.

Something else to consider so thank you for your input.I am lucky being a lifelong .22 shooter my brain functions in hold over .22 is my favourite calibre.

The AA and JSB are the same pellet. If you find a batch your barrel likes then stick to it.
A lot of people shooting .22 especially those new to the class like the idea of lighter pellets to close the aim points. Falcons, Mozzies are all JSB either Express or RS. Personally I've always found the heavier pellets better for shooting in the wind, not because they take less but they are more predictable and it's very satisfying watching your pellet bend into the target. In my experience shooting the lighter pellets into a headwind is a nightmare. Just my own findings mind, I'm sure there's plenty out there who'll disagree.
There's plenty folk shooting .22 in HFT now and it's a great test of your range finding ability as it's rare you get to gamble by putting a few aimpoints into the killzone.
You've paid good money for those mil dots so don't be afraid to use them :D

Many thanks for your input I think I am going to try the JSB Jumbo along side the AADF and then make a decision.Cheers.Tony

I've had good results with JSB Hades, but there the same weight (15.89g) as the JSB,s you've tried.

Thanks for your input so did I lol!,they where a brilliant pest control round. But I found beyond 30 yards the accuracy wasn't acceptable and the fliers appeared regularly.I also had quiet a few damaged. Its looking like I am going to .....
A.)Change to JSB 15.89
B.)Stick with AADF 16.00
I will have to find a new batch that my barrel likes and bulk buy as much as possible. On my last 2 tins off AADF 5.52.I am now reliably informed my two choices are one and the same pellet,s!(JSB).The JSB are more readily available and offer better bulk discounts.Tony

I shoot .22 for hft and had used jsb strattons pretty much exclusively up until recently, then I found a good batch of jsb jumbo my gun likes. It’s really fussy! I am thinking of going back to the strattons as I think they’re slightly better still in my gun. I’ve never had good results with lighter .22 pellets in any of my pcps, but they’ve all liked the strattons.
