Toni Kroos reveals he is open to extending his contract at Real Madrid beyond 2023 as the veteran midfielder, 32, insists: 'I want to end my career here'

Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has expressed his desire to stay at the Bernabeu until he retires from football. 

Kroos arrived at Real Madrid from Bayern Munich in 2014 and has been an ever-present part of the squad since - scoring three goals and providing as many assists in 20 appearances across all competitions this season. 

The 32-year-old's current deal with the LaLiga giants is due to expire in June 2023, but Kroos says he would like to extend his contract with the club to finish out his career in the Spanish capital.

Kroos has registered 83 assists and scored 25 goals in 340 appearances for the club

Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, he said: 'The length of the contract was chosen in a conscious way. When it ends, I will be 33 years of age and I will have to reflect on what comes next. 

'I don't need to enter any ambiguous games, I put the letters on the table.

'It's my eighth season with Madrid and I have an incredible relationship with the club and I would never endanger that. I think that is something mutual.

'I have said with clarity that I want to end my career here and that could happen.'

made the switch to Spain in the summer of 2014 having been one of Germany's leading stars to win the World Cup in Brazil. 

He signed for the club in a deal worth £30million from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich. 

Since then Kroos has played an important role for Real Madrid - registering 83 assists and scored 25 goals in 340 appearances for the club. 

Kroos has also won thirteen trophies during his time in Spain including two La Liga's, two Spanish Cups and three UEFA Champions League's.
