A Zendaya and Tom Holland Oscars debut and even Vanity Fair Oscars after-party debut appear to be out of the question tonight. Neither stepped out at the Academy Awards champagne carpet this evening. In fact, the two were seen in London this weekend, days after Zendaya was in Paris for Louis Vuitton’s March 6 show. A fan captured them holding hands while out yesterday and noted the couple was also seen with Holland’s mother today. Holland’s family is from London, and Zendaya has visited them there before. Neither have nominations this evening and given the distance from London to Los Angeles, it’s fair to say the couple rightfully chose to stay there.
Holland and Zendaya have kept the majority of their relationship private. Zendaya spoke about how strange she found the public interest in their romance when giving remarks to GQ for the magazine’s November 2021 profile on Holland.
She explained the public fascination regarding their relationship “was quite strange and weird and confusing and invasive. The equal sentiment [we both share] is just that when you really love and care about somebody, some moments or things, you wish were your own… I think loving someone is a sacred thing and a special thing and something that you want to deal with and go through and experience and enjoy amongst the two people that love each other.”
Holland himself added that the two were disappointed when a summer 2021 kissing video of them exposed their relationship. “I’ve always been really adamant to keep my private life private, because I share so much of my life with the world anyway,” he said. “We sort of felt robbed of our privacy.”
