Top ways to experience Tokyo Tower
The area
Address
Neighborhood: Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.

    Cloudy view of Tokyo
This was a kewl experience; however, I think it would have been better if the weather was much clearer. Went to the Top Deck Tour but could not see anything but white. Wish the weather was much better. Went right at sunset hour in hopes to see the day, sunset, and night view but didn't see much.

    Views of Tokyo
On such a nice day, I had to get an aerial view of Tokyo. I went on a Sunday and while it was busy, it wasn't crowded busy. I queued for an adult ticket which cost me 1200 yen for an adult. You then are directed around to see some history and pictures of the tower before moving to the area for the elevator. There was an different line for those who paid 3000 yen for the upper deck tour. The elevator to the main deck was pretty fast so I didn't wait more than few minutes. Once up on the deck, I was able to move very freely around and take photos of Tokyo from various angles. There were bathrooms and food up on the main deck as well as a queue for the elevator to the upper deck (if you decided to pay for it). The exit was down one flight of stairs to the lower main deck. I like this deck better as it as clear walkable flooring to walk on. Some people were cautious about stepping on the glass but I was able to some them that it was safe by standing on it and walking back and forth on it. After that it was an elevator down. There are gift shops, general shopping and food down at the exit. A nice place to go for 20 mins or so and to get photos of Tokyo.

Great night time views but forget the photo
I did a night time visit to the Tokyo Tower and prebooked the Top Deck tour which was Y2800 (200 discount for booking ahead). You get a QR code to show. I enjoyed the view from the top floor and it was a clear night. My one issue - they promote that you get a free photo... when you go and collect it, it is a tiny black and white one and then they tell you to buy a bigger one. Come on, give people a better colour one. We already paid enough to enter!

    Stunning Views
I am so glad that I made the effort (on a very short stopover to purchase a ticket to go up the tower. It was a clear sunny day and you could see very far into the distance. It is remarkable to see the density of housing if Tokyo and the variety of architectural designs. The service was wonderful.

    Skipped after seeing the price
I happened to walk past the tower which is quite impressive when you look up from below. There is also a nice park / temple in the area which is worth a visit. While I did plan to go up, I feel the price was too steep and not worth it.

Classic with cool views but slow lift system
Booked the top deck tour to get to the highest level. If you do this, be smarter than us and get there in time, as it’s not too easy to find the right lift and the right queue if you arrive there barely a couple of minutes before your assigned time slot. The view from the top is great and you get a handy audio guide that automatically tells you what’s in the direction you’re looking at. There was a lot of queueing involved, though, especially to get back down – it must have taken like half an hour just to get the lift back to the lower level. Iconic, nice-looking landmark, yes, but as far as towers go, I must admit I prefer the Skytree.

Worth the visit, but can be crowded.
We visited the mid level of the Tokyo Tower on a very crowded Saturday night around 8:30 PM. The elevator up was fine, crowded, but to be expected. It was a clear night, and the views were nice, showing the sprawl of Tokyo lit up. The viewing area was jam packed with tourists and after a quick lap around, it was enough. There is a small souvenir shop on the floor and a larger one on a lower floor. There is also a large food court on the 3rd floor with many options to dine. Absolutely stunning up close!

    Take the stairs!!
Don’t let it scare you! It worths your time walking up the main deck (only 600steps and takes you 20 min) then we stayed at the main deck for a while until our assigned time to take the elevator to the upper deck (well, the upper deck is of course nicer but the main deck is nice enough if you don’t have the time.) We also walked another 600 steps going down! There are trivia questions about the Tokyo tower on every turn so it made the stairs more enjoyable! But I do highly recommend at least walking one way (either up or down) for the experience!

A Tower You Don’t Want to Miss!!!!
I am a big fan of high-altitude-architectural structures. Not only is experience breathe taken, but they allow me to reflect on the genius minds that put a concept like the Tokyo Tower together and the hard work that was put into such an attraction. I really enjoyed the history provided on the tower by the professional and courteous guides. The prices was affordable and worth the magnificent view. Just ensure to get the ticket to the very top. You will be happy that you did. Also there is a food court and gift shop at the bottom of the tower and you will see it once the tour is complete. There will be opportunities to have your photo taken by the staff throughout the tour. You will be provided a free photo and have the option to purchase some of your photos taken during the tour. The staff will let you know which ones are free and which ones you will have to pay for. You will be excited, satisfied, and educated after you have completed the tour.

    Great viewpoint at sunset
The tower is worth visiting, but it’s not cheap. We paid 7400 Yen for a top deck tour for two adults and one high school-aged child. We rode up to the top deck from the main viewing deck, in a fancy elevator. In an ante-room, we learned about the two founders of the tower, media mogul, Hisakichi Maeda and architect, Tachū Naitō. It’s a semi-fictionalised story of them getting together to build the tower in the 1950s. Obviously, it’s based on the Eiffel Tower, which was built about 70 years before. And, yes it is fractionally taller, although the Special Observation Desk we went to is around 250m off the ground, and the Eiffel Tower’s highest deck is much higher. Anyway, this is about Tokyo Tower, not the Eiffel Tower! If you can get in at sunset, the views are stunning. You can see all of Tokyo laid out beneath you – including a view of Tokyo Skytree which is nearly twice as high and much more modern. You can even see Mount Fuji on a good day, although we didn’t. There is an audio tour telling you what you are looking at, at each compass point, but it was a bit hard to follow and you couldn’t pause it easily to get your bearings, so we gave up. It was still very enjoyable, though and we could recommend visiting.

We visited the Tokyo tower yesterday and it was amazing. The place is open for long so we went in around 9pm and avoided the rush. We only went to the main deck 150m above but you can also go into the upper deck 300m above the city. The views were fantastic and we were able to enjoy it better as the city lights come on fully in the night. The ticket were reasonable, we paid ¥1200 per person and the top deck costs ¥3000 per person. You can buy tickets at the venue without booking through 3rd parties.

Absolute top attraction value. The attraction is well planned out with experience intervals at each area. I would recommend taking the Top deck ticket as the space is less crowded compared to the main deck and the view from inside the elevator going up and down is outstanding. Compared to the Skytree this attraction was less crowded and had more interactive areas. Recommend reserving tickets a day in advance as time slots are limited, no need to print out paper tickets.

Great views of the Tokyo region and I really appreciated the well organised facilities and friendly staff. The shops were also selling items at reasonable prices (we compared to the markets we later visited). If you like the anime ‘One Piece’, you’re also in for a treat because there’re one piece experiences that are pretty cool to fans (I’m not a huge fan but know enough about it to like it!).

There are great views over the city from the tower. You have the option to go up to a viewing platform some way up, or pay extra to go right to the top. We decided to do the latter. The views are very good. We were there on a sunny day, but unfortunately were unable to see Mount Fuji as it wasn't clear enough. We still felt it was well worth doing.

Let me start by saying the tower itself is well maintained and quite beautiful to behold. They have restaurants, games and a shopping mall in the base. We paid extra to book tickets for the top deck in advance. I can’t say it was worth it - unfortunately the Tokyo skyline really isn’t very interesting, and because there are so many high rise buildings around, it’s not like you can see the ‘entire’ city.

If you like views then maybe this is for you. However, it is quite expensive and when you get up there there is little to see except for the view and an extortionately priced gift shop. Polite staff and clean and with the funniest pink pointed headed mascot guy who was v very enthusiastic. On balance I wouldn't bother.

Followed a combination of Google maps and Apple Maps, both provided good information on the train station. Easy transit from Yokosuka, and due to the state of emergency very empty streets. There is a selfie stand to put your phone and take a picture of the tower. It was a little rainy but the tower was still bright and a cool site to see. No going inside or riding up the tower, due to Covid but seeing it was enough for me.

This tower controls broadcast signals for tv and radio. So why go see it? It is the second tallest structure in Japan, and when you are able to ascend the views are great.
