We arrived at 8:45am on a Wednesday and the line up was already 45 minutes long. The lineup is underground and a bit difficult to locate. The signs are good...just follow them. The line moved very quickly, we were processed like cattle into the elevator and up we went.
The views were good. Far reaching if somewhat foggy. This was our fist sighting of the elusive Mt Fuji, having travelled to Japan 4 other times. Blessed with a clear warm spring day. The Cherry Blossoms 🌸were fully extended below and beautiful!
There were paid performers and visitors playing the piano 🎹. It was magical!

It'll take you to another world for a while. It starts at 19:00 and every 30 minutes until 21:00. One show lasts for 15 minutes. The staff were friendly and the service good beer was cold and food was good. The Tokyo Opera City Recital Hall was so nice for bit more casual audience too, but of course with good acoustics. Seems like they have a good line-up of performers. For example, I just attended the Van Gogh Exhibition, which was specially a focus or study of Van Gogh’s still life works. The exhibit was very well organized, best enjoyed following their thoughtfully designed path. There are works by other artists of significance, but they are there to e enhance the understanding of Van Gogh’s work. It seems that it caters to everyone in the family, selling all kinds of merchandise including fashion, bags, shoes, cosmestics, toys etc. Escalators and lifts are easily accessible, just like the washrooms.
The lower basements are mainly supermarket and food stalls, where you will be spoiled for choices. And this is one of the most crowded places in the departmental store at any time of the day!
In addition, several medium to high end restaurants are located on the 8th storey, mainly Japanese and Western cuisines. This is "quieter" than at the basements and prices are generally steeper.
And if you go up another floor to the rooftop, there is a plant nursery outdoor and an indoor pets stores, selling all kinds of accessories relating to pets, dogs, cats, fishes etc. And I especially like this "greenery" as it allows shoppers to take a break from the "noise and crowd" from the lower floors and indulge in some peace and greenery. There is also a cafe here which you can help yourself with some fingerfood.
If you are into shopping and staying near the train station, you will not miss this huge departmental store for sure!
