georgan g The characters and relationships are realistic. Look forward to seeing more. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member I guess it's a little more consistent than last season, but I didn't like the first half as much as the last season. The second half was really good though, and the seventh episode is my favorite episode of the series. I agree with the critics, because this season did seem to be less funny. The series finale was fine too. Overall I guess I did enjoy the series enough. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Under the radar indie charmer ends prematurely with a lot more story left to be told. Mumblecore veterans Duplass brothers created such a wonderfully understated series that it feels criminal that it had to end early while a lot of junk series keep on getting renewal. This is mature and deliberately paced slice of life urban comedy drama at its best. I have deducted half a star for the misguided glorification of the US charter schools. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member All of the characters in this show are annoying Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member This season really built upon Season 1 and seemed to be moving along well.. only to be canceled mid-season. Hoping they stream a Season 3 elsewhere, as they left two pretty big cliffhangers that could really fuel the show for another two seasons. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Though Togetherness Season 2 ends very abruptly and predictably it overall is a great season that shows the consequences the broken family must deal with as well as changing up some of the dynamics and expanding on some seen in Season 1 but is also much more heavily dramatic than the 1st season and though the show did end rapidly because of it's impromptu cancelation it does end in a satisfying enough way to give the series full closure and will be remembered as one of the most realistic portrayals of a family on TV. Robert Lloyd Los Angeles Times As in life, conflict resolution often comes down to people speaking in a normal tone of voice, or not talking, or just embracing what's obvious and unstated, which makes it no less powerful. Lovely, lovely, lovely. Feb 29, 2016 Full Review Dorothy Rabinowitz Wall Street Journal Togetherness has arrived for a second season with all its powers intact and familiar characters deepened. Feb 26, 2016 Full Review Tim Goodman Hollywood Reporter The series is very good at what it does, but I can't help thinking that more Gonzaga, Peet and Gallagher - in upbeat story form - would go exceptionally well with less dire versions of the excellent Lynskey, Zissis and Duplass. Feb 22, 2016 Full Review Jordan Alsaqa TV Equals The affair continues to exist as a bomb under the table, and we're left wondering when this season it will go off. Feb 23, 2016 Full Review Ken Tucker Yahoo! TV Togetherness, co-created by Zissis and brothers Mark and Jay Duplass, for all the unhappiness its characters regularly experience, is full of happy surprises. Feb 22, 2016 Full Review Kevin Jagernauth The Playlist The show doesn't ask you to step into a boldly realized fantasy world, or attempt to seduce you with sex and melodrama. Its goals are more straightforward. If there is any credo to the series, it's that the only thing certain thing in life is uncertainty. Rated: A- Feb 21, 2016 Full Review Read all reviews
