      Season 1 – Todd Margaret

      2010 Comedy List
64% 11 Reviews Tomatometer 88% Fewer than 50 Ratings Audience Score Todd Margaret is unqualified to sell anything, but that doesn't stop the part-time office temp from being tabbed to lead the London sales office of a new energy drink. (Unless the qualifications include being a compulsive liar, lacking any common sense and knowing nothing about British culture.) Todd's new boss, Brent, expects big results, if only to help subsidize his gambling habit and penchant for hiring prostitutes. Todd, however, has only one employee at his disposal, the mysteriously devious Dave, who takes advantage of Todd and often makes him appear foolish. Cafe owner Alice becomes the object of Todd's affection, and although she finds him annoying and unattractive, pity moves her to help him deal with the many jams he creates. The series is created, written by and stars David Cross ("Arrested Development") in the title role. Read More Read Less

      Critics Consensus

David Cross brings a bumbling charisma to this shaggy series, but viewers may find the chronicles of Todd Margaret's poor decisions to be too mean-spirited and scattershot to sustain their interest.

Ginia Bellafante New York Times "Todd Margaret" is all about its own ad-hoc lunacy, and yet it holds up as a pretty funny take on American corporate arrogance and as a symbol of the shift the workplace comedy has taken in recent years. Dec 3, 2018 Full Review Robert Lloyd Los Angeles Times This is fun at first, but it becomes tiring to see him continually swatted down. Dec 3, 2018 Full Review Brian Lowry Variety Yet as much as the channel likes to promote itself as having an "indie perspective," merely being offbeat isn't the same thing as being on target. Dec 3, 2018 Full Review Matt Roush TV Guide It's all exceedingly bizarre, which isn't necessarily the same as being funny. Dec 3, 2018 Full Review Phil Hogan Observer (UK) It had a promising start... But events in London felt a touch understaffed, too loosely handled, too dependent on Todd's calamities. Dec 3, 2018 Full Review Elka Karl Common Sense Media There are genuinely funny moments within each episode. Unfortunately, these moments are surrounded by ridiculous situations and disgusting gags.
