Luke Combs Shotguns Beer with Matthew McConaughey Onstage at Benefit Show

The 12th annual Mack, Jack & McConaughey Gala was not just any ol' fundraising event.

Helmed by philanthropist trio college football coach Mack Brown, recording artist Jack Ingram, and actor Matthew McConaughey, the two-night benefit showcase, which kicked off Thursday night (April 25), played host to an unforgettable series of events that included Luke Combs, McConaughey, shotgunned beers, and congas.

Following a cocktail reception and live auction, Combs headlined the gala's annual concert at Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater. There, he pulled songs from his hit-riddled repertoire and even pulled McConaughey onstage for a quick drink. Mid-song, the two shotgunned a pair of beers, downing them instantly before the artist launched back into his performance of '1, 2 Many'.

Combs closed the night with 'Beer Never Broke My Heart,' an encore that saw McConaughey back onstage, alongside Ingram, taking over on the congas.  

"What a night it was at the 12th Annual Mack, Jack & McConaughey Gala," the organization shared on social media following the event. "Bringing together hearts and voices for children’s causes, our event - headlined by @lukecombs at @acllive - was a celebration of music and philanthropy. Huge thanks to everyone who made it a success. Together, we’re changing lives!"

With the tagline #EmpoweringKids, that's exactly what the benefactors strive to do. The proceeds from this year's event supported CureDuchenne, Dell Children’s Medical Center, HeartGift, just keep livin Foundation and The Rise School of Austin.

Combs also took a moment to recap the thrilling event before setting his sights for Penn State's Beaver Stadium as a part of his extensive Growin' Up and Gettin' Old Tour. "Wild night last night for a great cause," he captioned a post on his Instagram. "Thanks for having us @mackjackmcconaughey!"
