1986: Timothy Dalton becomes the new James Bond

On 7th August 1986, Timothy Dalton is announced as the new James Bond.

Bond has previously been played by actors Sean Connery, George Lazenby and Roger Moore.

Timothy Dalton would go on to portray Agent 007 in The Living Daylights and License to Kill.
