A former police officer is currently evading authorities after reportedly killing his ex-wife and his 17-year-old girlfriend in Washington state before abducting a one-year-old boy.

Amber Marie Rodriguez was fatally shot outside Wile Elementary School in West Richland, located 200 miles southeast of Seattle, on Monday.

When authorities arrived at the residence of the suspect, 39-year-old Elias Huizar, they discovered another deceased woman.

Identified by her family, the second victim is 17-year-old Angelica ‘Jelly’ Santos, who is the mother of the abducted one-year-old child, Roman Huizar.

It is suspected that Elias is traveling in a silver 2009 Toyota Corolla with Washington license plate CBZ4745 and could be en route to Mexico.

According to the West Richland Police Department, Huizar is accused of shooting a woman at William Wiley Elementary School on Monday, April 22nd, and is alleged to have committed another homicide at his residence.

Additionally, he faces charges of child rape dating back to February and was scheduled to appear in court the same morning.

The initial shooting occurred approximately at 3:23 p.m. as students were being dismissed from William Wiley for the day, prompting several schools to be placed on lockdown.

Investigators warn that Huizar is considered armed and dangerous, with the potential to commit further offenses.

The public is urged to immediately contact 911 if Huizar is spotted.

Formerly employed as a Yakima police officer, Huizar was indicted in February on charges of child rape.

Although his trial was scheduled for Monday, April 22nd, court records indicate it was canceled.

Details from court documents regarding the February incident reveal that authorities received reports on February 3rd alleging a potential sexual assault by Huizar involving a teenager.

According to the reports, Huizar’s underage girlfriend allegedly caught him in the act of assaulting her 16-year-old friend at his residence.

Huizar served as a police officer for nearly nine years, from June 2013 to February 2022.

This is a developing story that will be updated when more information is available.
