American screenwriter, David Rayfiel of blessed memory is known popularly for the movies Sabrina (1995), The Firm (1993), and Three Days of The Condor (1975).

On September 9, 1923, David Rayfiel was born in New York City in the United States of America to his mom Flora Rayfiel and his dad Leo F. Rayfiel, who was a congressman as the couple’s second son out of their children. He had his education at Brooklyn college but dropped out along the line to join the Army and serve in Europe during World War II. In 1947, he graduated from Brooklyn College with a bachelor’s degree. He proceeded to pursue a master’s degree at Yale University where he graduated in 1950. It was during his studies at Yale University that he met his first lover, Lila Paris, whom he married in 1950, had a child, a daughter, Eliza with her but unfortunately had a very short marriage life as they divorced in 1953. 

He started his career in the 1950s as a screenwriter, and is known for the night shows, America After Dark and Who Do You Trust? He wrote the play P.S. 193 which was produced off-broadway in 1962. This brought about his breakthrough in his career as a screenwriter as he started writing for lots of television dramas some of which are Castle Keep (1969), Three Days of the Condor (1975), and The Slender Thread. Film director Pollack directed some of the films Rayfiel wrote.
