I love how TRU brings in support dogs Thursday mornings for all students to pet. It’s shows that the facility cares about the students mental well being.
TRU is a great school. The faculty in both arts and sciences are phenomenal. Arts courses tend to have a small town vibe—you aren’t a number to your professors you’re a person.
This school is awful. It's trading on International Students, actively recruiting them and telling them that even with low English or low grades you can succeed here. But without speaking English it's too hard. They have some good teachers, but many are sessionals and not hired permanently. There are no real "college" activities like mixers, and they choose to build condos for sale to private people rather than student housing on the campus, and students can't find housing here. Kamloops is a bit racist, and this makes it harder for International Students. The school talks a lot about student wellness, but doesn't even have enough counsellors or services for the students as they pack them into tiny classrooms like sardines. They care more about making money from as many students as possible than giving them a real education.
