At times, it's easy to think that it's demeaning to women (particularly the stalker nature of what the two guys are doing). It's also easy to flip that around - it's two guys fighting over one woman.
But, if you can suspend your disbelief and take the premise of the movie at its face value, it's pretty fun without getting completely mean-spirited, which some movies like this can get. McG has a pretty light touch when it comes to those kinds of plots, and it shows here.
And, like most McG movies, it ties up with a happy ending at the end. Oh, and I doubt a movie like this would get made today.
Not because it's sexist (again, it's pretty balanced in that regard). But because Hollywood has lost much of its sense of humor. When you can't take any risks with comedy, it stops being funny. At least this movie takes a few risks, and delivers in a lot of ways where movies in the last half decade or so have not.

So I liked the actors in this and figured, why not? There's quite a few huge issues with this movie. Aside from the dialogue and story itself, the premise is really awful and the ending makes it even more awful. So lets just get this out of the way first... these two guys try to get with the girl and have made a bet to see who can "win" her. Cute, but really just gross. Then they proceed to invade her privacy... and not just like, a little bit. But full on surveillance, with TWO crews of men watching her every intimate moment. Including watching her literally have sex with FDR. If that isn't bad enough, they both lie to her constantly to win her affection, and then they put her life in danger.
The ending takes the cake though, because not only does she choose FDR, (you know, the guy who had a crew of people film them having sex for the first time) but she gets with him BECAUSE of all the dishonest traits about him that aren't even true. She falls for him purely because of his softer side, what with adopting a dog, showing her rare paintings and claiming they share the same favorite painter... But none of that is the real FDR. He's just a ladies man and a liar... but she "chooses" him for all those traits he doesn't possess.
They try to hype him up by bringing up his childhood awkwardness like that somehow redeems him... but he can barely own up to that and is embarrassed by it. Then after ALL of that, after she chooses FDR, we learn that not only did Tom Hardy (forgot his character's name already) NOT sleep with her, but it turns out FDR also slept with Tom Hardy's WIFE. So in the end Tom Hardy just looks like a huge chump, and Chris Pine gets the girl AND has slept with Tom Hardy's wife... and that's supposed to be funny.
I dunno... I guess they all deserve each other because Reese Witherspoon's character was a pretty lousy person as well. They are all kind of crappy people and in the end I wasn't rooting for any of them to come out happy. I kind of was hoping she'd get hit by the car and die or something, and they'd split off from being friends over the incident. Would have been a much darker and deserving ending for 3 unlikeable characters.
