A Perfect Holiday Film
mc85fl11 November 2018
This is a perfect holiday film for the family. The story is simple but enjoyable. There is true Christmas values and spiritual elements which are rare to find nowadays in most films. Clearly a low budget film but the cast is great and it is beautifully shot and directed. My kids liked it. We enjoyed it.

An ENJOYABLE HOLIDAY FILM
allisonjanegarity11 November 2018
So for me the story was fine. Parents and a guardian angel who is trying to encourage a teen daughter to understand the real meaning of the holidays. I have to say that the men in this movie were really attractive. The guys were not afraid to show emotion and I was moved by the performances. Look it is not the most in depth movie but if you are wanting to veggie out with family during the holidays this is perfect. No big story line. Easy to follow. ENJOYED IT-- I am from the Tampa bay area and I loved seeing snow scenes.

This is cheerful and worth watching.

What I like about this Christmas movie is that they story was very grounded in reality. A young LA teenager is struggling with the loss of her Mom during the holidays. She is dealing with an empty feeling and is resentful. At the end of the movie she has a real transformation and she seems to come around. My family liked it. I enjoyed seeing Jerry & Ravin having fun in the snow filled mountains. Sorry for the other folks who watched it and did not see what we saw or got from this cute little film. I thought that the movie was pretty well acted considering what I see on Hallmark and Up Tv. The look and tone of the film was solid.

A huge fan of Academy Award winner Margaret O'Brien in the movie.
fanfarehollywood12 November 2018
Very happily surprised to come across this little gold nugget of a holiday movie. I began to watch the film and enjoyed the characters that seemed very light hearted and Frank Capra esque. Then mid way through the film a distinguished older woman named Grandma Foxworth comes into a bakery. I kept looking and said to myself, "I know this actress". It was none other than Oscar winner Margaret O'Brien (Meet Me & St. Louis & Little Woman). Margaret and her grandson played by Vincent De Paul (James Foxworth) are magnificent together. They are classic old Hollywood in 2018. The movie looks like it could have been shot in 1940's style. I love Christmas movies filmed particularly in Hollywood. It had great nostalgia for me.

Good Christmas movie

We enjoyed watching it with the family, a classic Hallmark movie. It's a simple sweet film with many cute moments. There are some beautiful images. It was cool to see Big Bear and other iconic LA spots. We found the characters likable. The kids loved to see Santa and the elf. A good holiday film to watch with your family.

File Under "FEEL GOOD"!
timothy-ratajczak15 November 2018
This is not technically a sequel to "Beverly Hills Christmas". Some of the characters do carry over, but you don't need to see "BHC" to enjoy "This Is Our Christmas". The surprise addition here is the appearance of Margaret O'Brien who is as delightful as you would expect. (In the 1944 adaptation of "The Canterville Ghost" she managed to chew up as much scenery as Charles Laughton!)

The evergreen themes of finding the "true meaning" of Christmas and the importance of "helping others" are front and center here. But honestly - can we or our children learn that lesson too many times?

If you love Christmas movies (as I do), you can't go wrong with "This Is Our Christmas". A very nice movie to watch with the family

A Really Fun and Feel good movie
charlottedecorso15 December 2018
Enjoyed this quirky fun film. The Foxworth family has a unique dynamic. The way the movie evolves has an interesting flow. We see some great scenes in and around Beverly Hills and snow filled Big Bear California. I really believed the relationship between attentive and caring James (Vincent De Paul) and his daughter Ravin (Ravin Spangler). Also I like his compassion for his family. Jerry(Brandon Tyler Russell) is so perfect as the young love of Ravin's life. The film hit a home run with my family. Easy to watch with kids. There was no big message I took from the film except to enjoy the holidays and eat Apple crumble pies.....

A critically review of THIS IS OUR CHRISTMAS
artfuldodger-2877918 December 2018
Christmas" (2018) reminds me of a Frank Capra and Irving Berlin holiday flick. I so enjoyed it with my family and it was very cinematic. I do not know this production but I Google searched the specs of the movie since it was supposedly shot on an ARRI Alexa camera. Beautiful rich vibrant colors by a poised and skilled director of photography. The quality of the film far surpassed what I have seen on Hallmark and other family channels offering holiday features. Yes, the quality and style of the film frame by frame was sumptuous especially in the Bavarian country-style bakery of Aunt Maggie. Not sure if the audiences picked up on this but Beverly Hills Christmas (2015) and This is Our Christmas (2018) seem like a homage to "It's A Wonderful Life" and "White Christmas". The movie in my opinion is not the traditional run-of-the-mill holiday movie offering; this movie instead is original and the story evolves naturally as opposed to forcing information down your throat to get the message. In the opening of the movie it states: "SEVEN YEARS LATER". I assume it is implied seven years from when Angelina Foxworth was struck by a car on Christmas Eve. Ravin's Aunt Yvonne says to her second stepmother, "She just lost her mother." The theme of loss is something that a great many people can relate to - especially a child; one year or seven years to a teen is virtually the same. It was very astute for Yvonne (Simona Fussso) to know the emotional level for that character. I smell good writing and great "teen life" research. To sum it up - IT HURTS TO LOSE A MOM. Additionally, there are many great sub-plots and A and B stories. These include: Dad (Vincent De Paul) dealing with the loss of a loved one and raising a teenage daughter. Aunt Maggie (Nancy Daly) losing her bakery to an unscrupulous developer. Nathan Winslow (Aaron O'Connel) losing his wife Laura (Natalie Pack) on Christmas Eve. Ravin (Ravin Spangler) realizing it is important to be less self-absorbed And Lastly, Angelina (Donna Spangler) making a significant difference with her family. (Really enjoyed Donna in this movie)

At the end of the movie all of these story lines are resolved. No, it was exactly 19 minutes before the end of the movie not what the other reviewers stated. Sorry, but some of these reviews are so cynical and they seem to find fault with every Holiday film out there. Personally, I look at the holiday films as fluffy and fun puppy dogs. Other reviewers have a propensity to look at them as Citizen Kane! LOL I enjoyed seeing legendary Academy Award-winner Margaret O'Brien as Grandma Foxworth. I enjoyed watching Meet Me In St. Louis (1944) with her; she must be collecting some hefty residuals on all of her classic Judy Garland and Vincent Minelli films! The movie is a MUST SEE! 8 stars.

A sweet and enjoyable movie infused with the spirit of Christmas and a simple message about what is truly important. Perfect for family holiday viewing----the kids and teens in my family loved it and wanted to see it again! And for my generation, seeing wonderful Margaret O'Brien again in a Christmas-themed movie is a heartwarming bonus that resonates with the season.

Enjoyable Holiday Movie
vance_jeffrey16 December 2018
THIS IS OUR CHRISTMAS is the type of "feel good" holiday movie that one has come to expect from this entertaining franchise. Actor-producer Vincent De Paul plays the compassionate father and has nice chemistry with screen daughter Ravin Spangler. Brandon Tyler Russell is memorable as Jerry, the love interest of the daughter. The inspired casting choice is Margaret O'Brien (the 1940s child star of the Christmas classic MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS) as Mrs. Foxforth. Nicely photographed in Beverly Hills, Griffith Park, Big Bear, and other distinctive California locations. Recommended.

So many plot lines
sdtk-6733914 December 2021
Not great acting and a ridiculous number of plot lines. Most of which were ridiculous! They could have taken half the plot lines and still had too many.

This is dreadful
miss_robuck20 December 2020
Struggled to find this film on here, as it seems to be called Beverly Hills Christmas 2. This is by far, the worst Christmas film I've watched. The acting is appalling and the characters lack any interesting qualities. The story line is jumbled and cringeworthy. Don't waste your time watching it.
