Found a check for $600 from 2016 that I forgot to cash
Check from Discover Bank. I tried calling them to reissue but they said it’s been too long so they can’t re-issue. They told me to call my state’s unclaimed property department. I searched my state’s site and I didn’t see this unclaimed amount.
$600 would be nice to add to my savings but it appears that I’m SOL, right?
Try searching again using a bigger nationwide site. That money had to be sent to unclaimed funds somewhere. But it may take longer ( hard to believe) but I just found an unclaimed fund that was from 1995 that never appeared before. Can’t wait to see what it might be
Any idea what the bigger nationwide site is? I’m based in California so I searched on https://www.sco.ca.gov/search_upd.html
Yes, If it was turned in it would be here.
I’m assuming you lived in California at the time. Try searching the state that is listed for the bank on that Check.

Having the uncashed check is a big plus. Checks can be hard to find at times. Suggest you call SCO and ask them to do a manual search for the funds. You can download California's entire database too and search yourself.
