The Zone of Interest is a disturbing look at how easily evil can be normalized, although its slow pace will challenge some viewers.

Sandra Hall Sydney Morning Herald Glazer takes a meticulously forensic approach to the pair, but it could never be said he’s putting them under a microscope. Far from it. He’s determined to keep them at a distance, perhaps afraid that a single close-up might taint the whole exercise. Rated: 4/5 Feb 29, 2024 Full Review Stephen Romei The Australian It is an extraordinary piece of filmmaking from the opening credits to the closing ones. Rated: 4.5/5 Feb 15, 2024 Full Review Jimmy So The New Republic Jonathan Glazer deliberately avoids the most familiar horrors of the Holocaust to show a further layer of inhumanity. Feb 13, 2024 Full Review PJ Grisar The Forward Hedwig and Rudolf are hardly the haunted Macbeths. The only damned spots that concern them are those on the poorly trimmed lilac bushes on the camp’s perimeter. May 14, 2024 Full Review James Marsh South China Morning Post Glazer has delivered a profound and deeply unsettling masterpiece that serves as a timely reminder that, as it did in Nazi Germany, true evil continues to exist amid the mundane, and turning a blind eye is nothing less than complicity. Rated: 5/5 May 9, 2024 Full Review Oti For Your Reference Podcast Presents a weird juxtaposition of mundane family issues against the Holocaust backdrop. It felt overly artistic—just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Artistically bold, but emotionally vacant. Rated: 3.5/5 Apr 23, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Eunice I like that Zone of interest was not graphic. The film was illustrating what happend in the concentration camps without showing the graphic details. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/15/24 Full Review Jake Amazing, original film. Shocking despite a complete lack of violence. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/24 Full Review Philip P After reading about the movie I was looking forward to seeing it. I was not overly impressed. It had a very powerful point to make, but it was tedious at times. Perhaps that was intended. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/17/24 Full Review Jacob H As difficult as the story is, this is a beautifully conceived and executed film. It will stay with me, in the best sense, for a long while. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/17/24 Full Review Julie A German family ignoring humanity, each in their own way, but the "sounds" from the other side of the wall were hardly discernable and of little volume. It's the story of Germans living a typical German family life with the husband ordering parts for a crematorium as if they were for a car. The only message was that day to day slaughter was ordinary business while invested with the same degree of competence and distance that surrounds business enterprises today. Basic and disappointing on a number of levels.
