For years I searched for the wonderful introduction piano piece, which haunted me for years. The music is, in fact, part of "So lokka me over den myra" Norwegian folk songs and dances for piano, Opus 17 by Edvard Grieg!

I watch this with a big smile and a few tears, I also watched this every day, along with Andy Pandy, Bill And Ben, Tales Of The River Bank, hard to believe I'm 60 this year and watched this around 5 years old, just wonderful to see again

Subject: Date question
This is not a review but a question. I found myself checking out the Woodentops through researching something else, and ended up having a minor dispute with Wikipedia. The first transmission date is quoted here as the 14th March, 1968, but consensus seems to have it as the 9th September, 1955. Can someone confirm which is correct?

This is an beautifully presented, Watch with Mother, resource of a well loved British Puppet Show, that I watched every single week as a child.
