      The Wheel Reviews

The Wheel thinly stretches the 'will they or won't they break up' dilemma for the movie's central married couple, until the movie's very last scene, which is the best part of the film. This relationship drama is mostly well-acted but very repetitive.

At the end, everybody has discovered something about themselves. But I couldn’t help thinking that disillusionment and forgiveness was respectively doled out to entirely the wrong people.

An intimate indie drama about the hope and heartbreak of adult relationships that's painful but also hopeful.

Pink, a veteran TV director who takes a rather self-important “a film by” credit on what feels like a first feature (it’s his fifth), shows almost no intuition for how to block or shoot a scene...

Understated relationship drama about two couples--one about to get married and the other about to get a divorce. Well-acted and talky, albeit a bit programmatic and script-y.

For all its formulaic faults, “The Wheel” is unusually astute about the ways some couples avoid the hard truths about each other because they’re afraid of ripping their whole lives apart.

The four main players are all excellent, with Amber Midthunder delivering particularly outstanding work that shows she is a young actor capable of great things.

Not many movies faithfully recreate just how awful (and interminable) some arguments between couples can feel, but "The Wheel" boldly makes the effort.

With this cleverly unassuming script, anything could happen, no matter where the momentum is taking them and us.

Overall, I think that THE WHEEL is a worthy chamber piece that has some very truthful things to say about human beings and relationships.

'The Wheel' takes tried and true themes of breakup and adds a personal touch that makes these characters martial plights something to pay attention to.

...a frustratingly erratic yet ultimately satisfying relationship drama.

The Wheel is a painful kind of beauty that works from start to finish.

Midthunder and Gray really sell the weaker points of the script, delivering the more stiff dialogue with more emotion than it deserves.

It's rare to see a smaller story about such large issues be so unpredictably alive.

I was left surprisingly satisfied at the emotional complexity the slight story packed.

Scars and wounds are scratched at in The Wheel. As uncomfortable as that is, the power of cinema is to tell a story that's as much about the audience as it is about the characters.

With four terrific lead performances at its center, 'The Wheel' examines the limits of love.

The Wheel is a moving inspection of the complexities of love that succeeds in no small part thanks to the immense talent of its cast.

Highlighted by Bella Gonzales' buoyant cinematography, The Wheel is fervent in its emotion and breathtaking in its portrayal of relationships being hobbled by broken communication and feelings of isolation.
