When an aging but spry Grace Quigley (Katharine Hepburn) accidentally witnesses the contract killing of her lousy landlord, she is both shocked and pleased. She hides in the back seat of a nearby Cadillac. The killer, Seymour Flint (Nick Nolte) owns the car! Making his getaway, he throws the pistol into the back seat. Grace grabs the gun and demands that he turn himself over to the police.
