Leo M "The Transporter" delivers with its action and set pieces, but hardly delivers with anything else. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 04/20/24 Full Review Hargie M While the plot may follow some familiar action movie tropes and themes, such as betrayal, redemption, and moral ambiguity, "The Transporter" distinguishes itself with its stylish direction, well-choreographed action sequences, and memorable characters. Additionally, the film's exotic locations, sleek cinematography, and pulsating soundtrack contribute to its overall appeal. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/16/24 Full Review Cody W To put a lot of car chases and multiple action sequences into one 90 minute movie, that's a lot of hard work. But I'm really glad that THE TRANSPORTER was able to pull it off. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/19/24 Full Review Forged S Rewatched the movie that launched Jason Statham's career as an action star. Before this movie, Statham was known for his roles in Guy Ritchie films like Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch, so to say, I was not prepared to see how amazing he was at martial arts would be an understatement. The story is passable, but I don't expect much from a "showcase film" or a film used to demonstrate the physical abilities of the principal actor. And what a showcase it was. Unfortunately, like most 2000s-era American-released EuropaCorp movies, the sequels were subpar at best and straight awful at worst. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/10/24 Full Review Audience Member Over 20 years later I remember seeing it with my sister opening weekend It managed to make made $25 million and had a huge life on home video This was my first introduction to Jason Statham in his first leading role, had no idea he was French Louis Letterier who is the same person who directed 'Professional' and 'Le Femme Nikita' along with Corey Yuen Statham plays Frank Martin; he’s a transporter by literal definition His job is to take calls from clients and deliver them by an established set of rules: no names, never change the deal, and never open the package Things change though when Frank breaks one of his own rules after he unzips a bag holding a woman inside named Lai She’s part of a much bigger plot involving smuggling people in containers and Frank’s latest client wants to snuff him out for getting involved Yet Frank used to be a trained soldier and they have no idea he’s no ordinary driver He might also have help from a French detective named Tarconi The film has very fun action and a simple yet silly plot despite so many things that are implausible My first introduction to Shu Qi as well, didn't know she was Taiwanese The movie is 'James Bond' meets 'Professional' as an entertaining popcorn flick Statham makes for a fun, suave action hero Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/12/23 Full Review Cowni F I enjoyed it. It's just a bit of brainless action fun. If only the dynamic between Jason Statham and the female lead wasn't so cringy... Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/13/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Nell Minow Common Sense Media Pure popcorn pleasure for older teens and up. Rated: 4/5 Dec 29, 2010 Full Review Hank Sartin Chicago Reader Jason Statham uses his smoldering charisma to great effect. Apr 16, 2008 Full Review Time Out The acting might be shoddy, the plot nonsense and the dialogue clunky, but the fighting is exquisitely done. Inventive, athletic, fun, stylish and tight, it's everything the rest of the film isn't. Feb 9, 2006 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins Mainly succeeds in being unintentionally hilarious - which oddly adds entertainment value the creators couldn't have planned for. Rated: 6/10 Nov 9, 2020 Full Review Sean Axmaker Seanax.com ... long action scenes that cascade into one another-the style that Hong Kong cinema used to be so good at. Jul 16, 2016 Full Review Jeffrey Lyles Lyles' Movie Files More than a decade later, no action series has quite managed to capture its blend of silky smooth action thanks to Statham's turn as the debonair hero for the new generation.
