Audience Member Very good movie James Welch, Henderson, Arkansas June 27, 2023 Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/28/23 Full Review martin b Pretty formula Cary Grant movie around that time period. Grant the devilish perceived rogue but at his core a noble person. Jean Arthur, a step down from Kate Hepburn but same idea. Colman the stiff that has to be made human by Grant and Arthur. Miss direction and the usual shell game with someone not in on how it's rigged. And naturally sexual tension resolved at the end as usual. The message unfortunately too far out of date but nostalgic in any event. Just a fun, feel good movie. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Excellent film with a great cast and direction. Cary Grant, Jean Arthur, and Ronald Coleman. A story about a town coming to the defense of a man who is not guilty of a crime Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/06/22 Full Review david l The Talk of the Town is a charming comedy starring excellent Ronald Colman, expectedly rascally Cary Grant and wonderful Jean Arthur who is just as lovable here as she always was. The film is overly convenient in its setup and tonally uneven, but it's entertaining, very well written in its dialogue and populated by three exceedingly likable personalities. It's an unexpectedly breezy and fun Oscar nominee. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member The movie is disjointed and very dated. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review william d Nice comedy-drama, a much better film than the more famous Grant/Arthur collaboration Only Angels Have Wings. Tom Milne Time Out An attractive serio-comic tale of civic corruption. Jun 24, 2006 Full Review Bosley Crowther New York Times It may be off beam in its philosophy, but its quality of humor is not strained. Rated: 3.5/5 Mar 25, 2006 Full Review Dave Kehr Chicago Reader Overblown, too long, and not nearly as much fun as it's cracked up to be. Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Roger Moore Movie Nation Something of a mixed bag, a film with all the hallmarks of a classic but without the pace or the “touch” that might have made it much more than it is. Rated: 2.5/4 Mar 26, 2024 Full Review Yasser Medina Cinefilia The rhythm is irregular, but the drama and comedy are very well balanced. In the plot there is humor, surprises, very nice characters and a delicate love triangle that works properly.
