Through 3 Quarters

The Boise State Broncos were the heavy favorites here for a reason. Three quarters in and their offense has really been able to impose its will, dominating the Colorado State Rams 52-21 three quarters in. Boise State took a hit to their ego last week, so a win here would be a pleasant pick-me-up.

The Broncos have been relying on RB Andrew Van Buren, who has punched in two rushing touchdowns, and WR Khalil Shakir, who has picked up 52 yards on the ground on four carries. Van Buren hadn't helped his team much against the BYU Cougars, so this is a nice turnaround for him.

With three sacks, the Boise State defense has been a true menace for Colorado State's offensive line. We'll see how many sacks Boise State can scare up the rest of the game.

What to Know

The Boise State Broncos and the Colorado State Rams will face off in a Mountain West clash at 8 p.m. ET Nov. 12 at Albertsons Stadium. Colorado State will be strutting in after a victory while the Broncos will be stumbling in from a loss.

A win for Boise State just wasn't in the stars last Friday as the squad never even grasped a temporary lead. Things couldn't have gone much worse for them as they lost 51-17 to the BYU Cougars. Boise State was down 38-3 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. A silver lining for them was the play of WR Khalil Shakir, who caught ten passes for two TDs and 139 yards. One of the most thrilling moments was Shakir's 52-yard TD reception in the fourth quarter.

Meanwhile, Colorado State beat the Wyoming Cowboys 34-24 last week. Colorado State QB Patrick O'Brien was slinging it as he passed for two TDs and 255 yards on 26 attempts in addition to punching in one rushing touchdown.

Boise State is the favorite in this one, with an expected 14-point margin of victory. They have been consistent moneymakers against the spread when favored (2-0), so they might be worth a quick bet.

The Broncos are now 2-1 while the Rams sit at 1-1. A pair of numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: Boise State ranks 13th in the nation when it comes to thrown interceptions, with only one on the season. But Colorado State is even better: they have yet to throw a single interception. So expect both teams to feel comfortable airing the ball out.
