      William C One of the best Stephen King adaptations ever next to Misery, Salem's Lot, and Stand By Me!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/14/24 Full Review Georgan G Being a King fan, thought I'd watch this mini-series. It was pretty good as a book, but as usual for King it was too long & had too many characters. I actually enjoyed this version more than the book. Not only was it Stephen King's genius mind that created it, but the cast that was chosen were some of the best in the business. The story which revolves around good vs evil was laid out very well, including watching the characters evolve throughout all four episodes. The best example was Larry Underwood. He started out as a somewhat careless, not quite independent musician who turns out to be one of the most responsible and very important leaders. The same applies to the characters on the evil side. This was such a well thought out series about how a virus can wipe out almost everyone, that it was as if Stephen King saw Covid-19 coming. In fact, a remake was made during the pandemic although it cannot compare to the original.
