Tradie is electrocuted in horror accident while working on the roof of a home in Manly on Sydney's Northern Beaches

A labourer has tragically died in a horror workplace accident.

The tradie in his 30s was working on the roof of a home in Manly, on Sydney's Northern Beaches about 3pm, when he was electrocuted.

He is understood to have been removing insulation in a roof space and was discovered with severe burns, the Manly Observer reported.

Firefighters, who were first on the scene, performed CPR before an ambulance arrived.

'We arrived to concerned tradesmen, they indicated he was working in the roof space,' Manly Fire Officer Peta Miller said.

'We made sure the power was isolated and the crew had correct protective clothing on, then they gained access to the roof and commenced CPR.

'He had severe burns and unfortunately could not be revived.'

His next of kin are yet to be notified of the tragedy.

Work Cover and police detectives are now investigating the incident.
