The complete recorded legacy (cut in 1965 at the radio station at Bob Jones University) of GP’s first folk-country band the Shilos w/ gorgeous group harmonizing & spirited virtuoso playing. An extraordinary level of talent is on display here featuring a handful of GP’s originals interspersed with covers. They missed becoming successful because it was the tale-end of the folk boom just before the British invasion took a lot of the commercial wind out of its sails (& sales). Still, they rivalled the best work of folky heroes the Kingston Trio & the the Journeymen.
Showcasing a strong command of traditional folk styles from country blues to gospel to bluegrass.
