Adrian Martinez showcased his running prowess, amassing 138 yards on nine carries, while Ricky Person Jr. powered through for two touchdowns, propelling the Birmingham Stallions to a commanding 32-9 victory over the Houston Roughnecks on Saturday. With this win, the Stallions maintain their unblemished record at 5-0, standing as the sole undefeated team in the league.

Martinez’s versatility extended beyond the ground game, as he completed 11 of 20 attempts for 155 yards, contributing significantly to Birmingham’s offensive prowess.

On the Roughnecks’ side, Reid Sinnett managed 203 passing yards on 27-of-38 attempts, including one touchdown amidst one interception. Despite their efforts, the Roughnecks (1-4) couldn’t secure a victory, their sole win of the season prior being against the Arlington Renegades.

The Stallions surged ahead notably in the second quarter, with Martinez’s touchdown pass and Person’s rushing touchdown amplifying their lead. This quarter dominance allowed Birmingham to outscore Houston 20-9, ultimately securing the win. Birmingham’s ground game averaged an impressive 6.7 yards per rush, outgaining the Roughnecks 358-271 in total yardage.
