Tom DiCillo (Living in Oblivion) is the writer and director of this knowing spoof centered on the relationship between an idealistic--and perpetually out of work--actor (Matthew Modine) and his live-in girlfriend (Catherine Keener).

Despite the great cast this is a film in search of a story, this jumps from one scene to another aimlessly with very little tying things together. There are some surprisingly well known cast members here but they almost seem like long cameo's rather than characters. The only theme I could discern is that this is about actors and models lives in New York but the film really dosnt dig in to any of them with any realism. not a comedy and not really a drama. Confusing.
5.0 out of 5 starsGreat film - but where are the captions?

Probably Tom DiCillo's masterpiece. Sophisticated and endearing. If you like 'Delirious' and 'Living in Oblivion', don't miss this one. But don't believe what the cover says : the English captions are nowhere to be found.
