The Rascals

Profile:

Formed 1965 in Garfield, NJ USA, and disbanded in 1972. Originally known as The Young Rascals, they changed their name to The Rascals somewhere between 1967-11 and 1968-02. Inducted into Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 (Performer).

After the Rascals were disbanded in 1972, there have been reunions and one-off performances. In the 1990s & 2000s there were live performances by The New Rascals on the one hand and by Felix Cavaliere's Rascals on the other. In April 2010 all 4 members of the original line-up reunited for a benefit in New York, and that broke the ice for a series of public performances between December 2012 and November 2013 with The Rascals: Once Upon a Dream, a combination of concert & theatrical event that was produced and directed by Steven & Maureen Van Zandt.

Subsequent reunions did not happen, and will no longer be possible after the death of Dino Danelli on 2022-12-15. The revival band currently on tour features Cavaliere & Cornish as its core members.
