The vision of the English department at The Ramsey Academy is to ensure that every student will foster a love for all aspects of the subject.

Throughout the students’ learning journey, they will cultivate knowledge of literature and Language from the best that has been thought and written across time and genres.

Moreover, we aim to offer opportunities for students to explore our diverse and inclusive society, so that they leave with a deeper understanding of the universal human experience, and the world around them.

Finally, we believe that developing a students’ reading and writing skills from KS2 into KS4 are fundamental to future success, and as such we have ensured that these skills are built into every aspect of our curriculum, from Year 7 right up until Year 11.
