ITV are certainly doing some serious sucking up to the biggest family of freeloaders in the UK ahead of the ginger matey ones marriage to some C list actress from across the pond. In the past few weeks we've had documentaries about the forthcoming nuptials presented by 'national treasure' Sir Trevor McDonald (or 'professional autocue reader' as I prefer to call him), one on Camilla Parker Bowles, and this one presented by Sir David Attenborough which was the only one I had half an eye on and which least attested to the fact that the Windsors can do something positive for the world - I wonder if such goodwill stretches to the homeless on the streets of Windsor on the big day? Didn't expect to see this on here, hence why I'm logging it a month later.

The centre-point of this film, showcasing the initiative across the Commonwealth to set up a network of national parks, is a charming conversation between two nonagenarians, The Queen and Sir David Attenborough, walking and talking together like the old acquaintances they are (he was behind several of her Christmas message broadcasts when he was a BBC channel controller).
Now we know that the member countries have acquiesced to the Queen's wish that her son, Prince Charles, succeed her as Head of the Commonwealth, it is fitting that her legacy will be carried on by a man who has always been passionate about trees, even, apocryphally, talking to them.
