Reviews
- An album commissioned by rich French fan DeBarge so he could be the lead singer featuring TPT’s (during their greatest creative late 60's period between "SF Sorrow" & "Parachute") as composers & backing band w/ top quality psych-pop songs, excellent playing & trademark PT's harmonising.
Essential for fans of late 60's British psych rock.
TPT’s absolutely on fire.
The story in a nutshell.
Phillipe Debarge was a wealthy, French scenster-playboy and a huge fan of the Pretties. He fancied himself as a rock singer and his dream was to make an album with his favourite band. Cashed up to make that dream a reality, he contacted the PT's, pitched the idea and an agreement was reached. The PT's wrote all the music-lyrics and Debarge sang. Once completed, the PT's involvement was done and they left Debarge with the tapes to pitch to labels for a release. Amazingly, after hearing the results, nobody bought the tapes and they sat unheard (save from some really dodgy quality boots) for years until Mike Stax (huge PT fan and owner-editor of Ugly Things fanzine) somehow got the band to agree for a cleaned up, done right, release. It's been taken from an acetates so there's some surface noise – but - here it is in all its lovely psych glory – enjoy!
