Alani Vargas Chicago Reader The movie has a brevity to it that makes the silliness and embarrassing antics pass by quickly, and it delivers a decent amount of chuckles and even some outright laughs. 'Woody' D 3 minutes into this movie, the acting is terrible, it has a stupidness about it that I'm not willing to gamble another minute of my life on it getting any better. Two thumbs down. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/13/24 Full Review Kyle M Willing to discuss deeper subjects whilst appealingly comedic then forming a decent familial dynamic, the familiarly grasped commentary gets limited and afflicted by awkwardly addressed notions without realistic conviction nor spacious relations. (B-) Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/24/24 Full Review Jeff M I think a movie like this is probably one of the most difficult to pull off successfully. It is a dark comedy comprised of characters who, for the most part, are imminently unlikable put in situations that tend to compound their unlikability. In order for this to work, the filmmakers need to be uncompromising in their character development and find as much humor as possible in the various scenarios. And in both of these categories, the film misfires. Despite some biting lines of dialogue here and there, it's just not funny. And sometimes awkwardly so, including a failed attempt at a three-way and a bachelorette party gone awry. Even worse, the filmmakers aren't courageous in their convictions and, without giving too much away, throw everything away in the last 15 minutes by allowing all the characters moments of redemption and catharsis. It's such a predictable route and doesn't feel the least bit believable. Throughout the film, I kept thinking about a wonderful comedy I found on HBO Max called THE OTHER TWO. It also is filled with characters of dubious moral integrity, but the writing and performances are sharp and unyielding. This ultimately feels like a half-baked sitcom that thinks it's a lot more clever than it actually is. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/24 Full Review Ken B While this was mildly entertaining, there have been so many movies like this, there's just nothing left to the imagination. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/24 Full Review Parker P Was a decent comedy - good cast and some laughs Rated 4 out of 5 stars 12/01/23 Full Review Moses Those who greenlit the project need to be drug tested. I wonder if the players were blackmailed into acting in this. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/04/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
