Atem Television Studio Pro lower thirds

PostTue Feb 16, 2021 8:39 pm

I can display a lower third from the Media Pool using the "Luma" tab in the "Upstream Key 1" section. When I have the "Fill Source" set to "Media Player 1", and the "Key Source" set to "Media Player 1 Key", I can display a desired lower third on top of a camera by using the "Key Cut 1" button on the Atem Television Studio Pro unit. I can also display the lower third by clicking on the "On Air" button in the "Next Transition" section of the Atem software.

Using either one of these methods results in a "Cut" to lower third superimposing over the current camera selection. While this is functional, it results in a somewhat unprofessional look. I would much rather the lower third fade in over a second or two, and fade out.

Can anyone tell me how to fade in and out a lower third?

Hi Either, what happens if you use the auto key with a transition time?
Otherwise you need to fire a video sequence as lower third which is doing the fade in.

Hi.
Below the ON AIR button you already used there are a button for key 1. press that and then select mix below and then press AUTO. Adjust the rate to the desired length.
I would suggest that you used the down stream keyer instead of the upstream keyer. Benefits are that you have a auto button only for that key and you can set a different rate only for the keyer. With the upstream keyer you share the auto button for all keyers and background and you must learn to select/deselect every time you use the auto button.

Why U not using DSK ? its ideal for lower thirds .. LOAD PNGs into media player .. and set FILL and KEY in DSK to Media player. AND DSK have AUTO button .. fade in and out ..
