I really tried to find a positive point, but there isn't. But they made a movie with a go pro and a bottle of ketchup.
This extremely dreary Australian found footage horror feature from director/cinematographer/co-sound mixer/co-writer/co-producer James Phillips(THE PROPOSAL) involves a coed group of college aged bikers(as led by [the film's co-writer] Sarah Bishop[RED CHRISTMAS,CRUSHED{2015}]) whose day in the Aussie wilderness and dirt roads are completely ruined by an unseen creature who delights in pursuing after them and gorily mangling them up.
Blandly acted by the cast, poorly paced in its sloppy storyline, and woodenly helmed,LAST RIDE is indeed a complete cinematic dud.
As a nice, virtual mountain bike ride and romp through the forest, it was invigorating.
As a movie, it was as boring as watching a babbling brook.
Hiking with the killer koala bears in chase. Boring, slow and too much hiking with no action. I did agree with the black dude stay ahead in front and leave then fools behind.
Nah this aint the one.
Remember that one shot in blair witch when they’re in the tent and they think they see something and then run from it? And it’s like 2 minutes of them running? Take that one sequence and stretch it out to an hour and ten and you have Last Ride.
I will give them an extra half star for doing a movie in a single take.
I try to find something good in every movie that I watch. For Last Ride, the good is when the final credits end because that means you can begin the task of trying to forget that you wasted 78min of your life that you will never get back.
Well, that was stupid and a waste of time. If I'm going to deal with 80 minutes of male posturing and screaming and not a whole lot else happening, I want to see what the Killer Koala or Wily Wombat that's after them looks like.
