I saw this when I was maybe 11 years old, and the main thing I remember is the trick play Gary Coleman used as a manager, having a meeting on the mound with his pitcher and infield, and then secretly having the first baseman take the ball with him back to the base, waiting for the runner at first to step off the bag so he could tag him, which he did. To this day, EVERY time I see a meeting on the mound, I secretly hope the first baseman has the ball in his glove. Hasn't happened yet...

Gosh... even a dumbass baby movie airing on a random weeknight on NBC back in the day used to look like a real movie. Now you can't even go to a theater and see something that looks like a real movie.
I'm gonna watch every Gary Coleman movie that's on youtube!

For a made for TV movie this one has all the right vibes. Sure it’s predictable from beginning to end but it’s the story being told that gets you there.
Plenty of baseball full of heart and the star power of Ed McMahon, boy I miss him.
If you are a fan of Baseball movies don’t skip out on this one.
