- absolutely killer LP of hot and raunchy funk'n'roll. one of my favorite Ike & Tina LPs for a reason. this one smokes!!!
- I have the 45 of "Contact High" and that is the reason I bought a used OG US pressing years ago. Other comments here are spot on. I just upgraded my amplifier (Naim Supernait 3) and am going through my collection. I put the needle down on side one and - Wow! "It Ain't Right (Lovin' To Be Lovin')" really does show a Stones influence, and the guitars do rock!
I have to add that sound quality doesn't reach that level on some tracks, but it remains a great record.
Check out "Contact High" for some nasty Strat goodness. - Edited 3 months ago

This record sounds AMAZING!! It plays so loud and fresh on music system. I would like to know another opinions. My set: Ortofon 2M Blue, Sony PS-X70 Turntable, Sansui AU-517 amplifier and B&W speakers. Thank you!! - Edited 2 years agoBack in 1970 this Liberty album hit the stores...Ike and Tina were already established performers...I find this recording a bit muddy and bass ladened...Also, it seems a bit FLAT to me...Their "LIVE" recordings brought out the vitality of the group that included Tina's lead vocals, the Ikettes, and the throbbing beat of the band...A nice listen, but for me not their best effort...
- I'd really like to know if track 14 is "Treating Us (Women) Funky" since it should last 2:13 not 2:33. Anyone?
- Edited 8 years agoThis is my and my wife's favourite record of all time. Ironic I know considering it is Ike and Tina. But the wife turned me on to this album when we first started going out. I, like many, had been scared off of Ike and Tina by the much repeated accounts of Ike's despicable actions as a husband. When I put this record on, the actions of the artist went out the window and I was left with the music. Late 60s classic blues riff rock crossed with the very best soul and funk of the time. Topped with a voice of such beauty and pain (check out my wife's fave Unlucky Creature). The covers are the worst of the album (Evil Man excepted). It's Ike and Tina's originals that capture a zeitgeist in the crossroads of the finest music of that time (all time?). I later gleaned an understanding why while reading Keith Richards' bio. We've all seen Gimme Shelter, so we know Ike and Tina toured with the Stones. During that tour, Ike saw Keith working with a guitar tuning he (in his career since the dawn of rock) had never come across. Ike took this Stones vibe into the studio with Tina and this album is the result. (Pick to click for me Young and Dumb) - Regicide
