    Hey you guys!!
Amazing little town with a lot of cool stuff to see! Highlight was definitely visiting the "Walsh residence" aka the goonies house! Please please please do not drive up to the house and do not park on Duane or 38th when visiting as the streets are NARROW and the parking is intended for the neighbors. Even if it's for 5 minutes please don't! It's worth the walk in this cool old neighborhood. Also please don't leave any trash and if you see any, be courteous and pick it up please! We want this amazing piece of cult classic cinema history to stay accessible for fans to see for years to come! Also there is a donation box at the corner of the property (easily mistaken as a mailbox) and if you'd like to help with keeping this circa 1896 home in good shape and well maintained a few bucks couldn't hurt!

    Goonies house
Ok so i only saw the movie once but my wife has seen it a few times and lets face it its one of those 80s cult following things that has its special place in alot of people's lives. That said if you are any type of goonie then you need to stop, take a selfie and prove you were there. Park on a side street, dont drive up the hill, and be respectful of the neighborhood. Go to genos pizza afterwards, you'll love it

    Glad I came
Stayed in a downtown Astoria hotel, so I left the car behind and made a 28-block trek over to 38th St. Since it was in the early evening, there weren’t too many others looking to see the house. You walk up a short rocky driveway. The house is more beautiful than I thought, adorned with summer flowers blooming. All the 3 homes up this driveway were beautiful. I’m glad I stopped in!

    The View is BREATHTAKING
Very Cool to see in person. Parking was a struggle but once you’re at the top, it’s worth the walk. I’m totally going back again and getting myself in the picture next time. The new owners that bought it sound like they’re gonna bring the Goonies Theme back. I can’t wait to see what this house has in store the next few years.

    Checked off the Bucket List!
Let's ne honest, chances are, at this point anyway, you are headed to the Goonie House just to get your picture taken in front of it and maybe pull off you version of the "Truffle Shuffle". That's all there is to do. This is much more than that for a whole generation of people that grew up in the 80's. My eyes welled up when we were walking up that hill. I couldn't believe I was there! We joked a little with a few other people that were there to make the pilgrimage to this place. I popped $10 into the donation box, took a couple videos with my phone, snapped a few dozen pictures, and it was over. A desire burning inside of me had finally been extinguished that I have felt for for almost 40 years. I've had the Goonie House in my Bucket List Top 10 forever. BIG time check. I loved it.

Don’t even bother. Final boss Karen was blocking the driveway yelling at kids wearing goonies t-shirts physically blocking people from coming up. When we asked her why there was a sign saying foot traffic welcome she said that’s from the owners trying to get donations. You can see the house partially from the street but unless you want you and your kids getting an earful don’t bother. Whoever that lady was, if you are reading this you should be ashamed of yourself. I understand you don’t like people walking up your driveway, and if so how about putting up a gate? The ten year olds who respectfully turned around are more mature than you are. Most people will respect your privacy when asked nicely.

I parked at the Safeway out of respect to the local homes (there is street parking close by) and had a nice short walk past Ginos pizza and walked up to an icon of my childhood. There was a Jeep parked there with a sign that says foot traffic only. I took all the pictures I wanted and just stood there and took it all in. Left a few dollars in the donation box (the Goonies house needs some repairs). No problems with anyone. Great nostalgic moment in my life. Thank you for the owner that seems to understand this is a cult icon. PS if you ever want to sell give me a call. Key is simple: Respect the owner and the properties up there.

As the recent reviews have indicated, the Goonies House is "open". We were there on a quiet misty Saturday morning. We parked at the school which is about a block away and walked up. We stayed quiet and were respectful to all the residents in the area. We walked up and took some pictures, did the truffle shuffle, made a donation, and were on our way. It was great to see especially after we weren't sure if it was "open" to the public anymore. I am sure the donation box helps to keep it that way, but I'm guessing any Goonie's fan has no problem paying.

The Goonies was a huge part of my childhood, and I was so excited to take my daughter to see the house while we were in the area. I was nervous since so many people had told me the owners didn’t welcome visitors anymore. Luckily that’s changed and we were able to walk up to the house, snap our pics, and send a thank you tip on Venmo before heading off to the Oregon Film Museum.

The Goonies House (Mikey and Brand's house) was awesome to see up close even from the rock driveway up the hill to the house to include Data's house beside it with the window from the zipline scene. We parked down at the side street and the neighbor's were out and didn't have a problem with us parking down there since I asked before getting out of the car with my family. Left $10 in the donation box up in the flower bed right at the corner of the driveway since it was just great to see it in person without going in. Didn't have any issues whatsoever with it being the 4th of July weekend in Astoria.

Fun to see the Goonies' house and do the truffle shuffle! There were several other groups going to to see it the same day but it wasn't too crowded. Mind you it was the middle of a Tuesday lol. We did not encounter any Karens, but I would say to please read the other reviews and be mindful that this is where people live. We parked on the street and walked up to the house as like others have mentioned the driveway is gravel and there is not really anywhere at that end of the street to turn around. A fun sight on a road trip though for sure, especially for us 80s babies!

Like many others this house holds a certain nostalgic feel and I was excited to see it….unbeknown to me I’d have the lovely misfortune of running into Ms. Fratelli herself! Came speeding down the driveway and gargoyled the driveway just doing what Karen’s do. After a little back and forth we went back to the car, waited for the bear to crawl back into its hibernation hole and ran up to see the house. A lot of people travel far and wide to see the house so just know you’re likely to encounter this nut. How you handle it is up to you…

I wasn’t sure if we’d be able to go see it, but sue enough, there was parking right down the street, they just request you walk up to the house. They had a huge sign that said “Hey you guys! Goonies Welcome!” So you don’t feel uncomfortable at all or like you shouldn’t be there. Super cool experience would definitely recommend to any goonies fan! Also bonus points for the “Ignore Karen” sign, sounds like she’s ruined the experience for some folks!
