The Flying Burrito Bros – The Gilded Palace Of Sin

This is a top notch pressing; I found that I like the sound better than an original Monarch. Superb low end and great clarity.

Just listening again to this edition of Edsel, which in the mid-eighties provided me with so much good vinyl of old bands like Spirit I had lost when the seventies ended and left me homeless and broke. This is analogue and a Porky-prime cut, need I say more? One of the best albums ever made sounding great, and you know what, my first pressing had a great sound, but I can't remember if it was better, what I do know is that Edsel provided me with spotless albums, no tics or whatever.

Remastered from a CD found in Filippo's car... as with all the other 4 Men w Beards releases.

Nice pressing, good quality presentation but mine did have a nasty looking smudge on side one with a few pops on a couple of tracks, Intervention sent me a replacement, but it too had a few pops that i managed to clean. What's with these new pressings even from good companies, they almost always have issues with pops and surface noise.

No problems here. The odd little crackle but I haven't cleaned it so it figures. Overall, I'm pleased with the vinyl and the thick, tip-on jacket. I suppose a poly-lined inner sleeve was too much to ask.

I have this edition, it sounds wonderful. Such a brilliant album. Parsons was a great singer/songwriter. However, Chris Hillman is just as great, he co-wrote most of these songs and the album is just as much his vision as it is Parsons. The best album Parsons was involved in along with “Sweetheart of the Rodeo” in my opinion. After that go for Parsons solo albums which are wonderful.
I highly recommend this album.

If this is done from a safety copy of the analog masters, what's wrong with that process!?!? This sounds great, right? So analog tape copies of master tapes must be a good method...

I have a copy of GPoS on the silver A&M label, the inner sleeve has A&M releases like Supertramp Crime of the Century, Hoyt Axton Southbound, Humble Pie Street Rats, so it's somewhere in the 1974-75 era release, except I cannot find this exact release.
Matrix on side one: CSG SP 4249-15, tent symbol, 13047. Found one edition that has this matrix but it's a 1969 release. Can anyone help?

Incredible sounding pressing of an incredible album. The Intervention reissue is absolutely spectacular too, so you can’t go wrong with that one. That said, nothing can replace the indescribable magic of listening to a first pressing though, especially when they sound as good as this one.
