Synopsis

Freddy Wetherill and his new bride, Hyla, quarrel while visiting his mother-in-law's beach cottage, and Hyla sends her new husband home alone. Seeking distraction from his troubles, Freddy enters a vaudeville theater where Undine, "the diving Venus," and her trained seal, Freddie, are performing. Freddy leaves the theater, and, meeting Undine's fiancé, George Fitzgerald, he becomes involved in an effort to hide the seal away from a bill collector armed with an attachment for the animal. Complications arise, and the whole troupe ends up at the home of Freddy's rich uncle, Cato Dodd, followed by Hyla, in jealous pursuit. A dam breaks, the house floats down the river, and the invaluable seal is lost. Freddy rescues the guests, finds the seal, and becomes reconciled with his wife.
