Living in prehistoric times has its drawbacks, but the Flintstones and their neighbors survive in style. So have a yabba-dabba-doo time with the The Flintstones.

The Flintstones was still very popular when the fourth season opened with what may the most famous single episode: "Ann-Margrock Presents." Ann-Margaret, who had become an overnight sensation in "Bye Bye Birdie" (1963), provided the voice for her caricature. During the 1962-63 season, the series had made cartoon history when Wilma became pregnant. According to Joe Barbera, Wilma and Fred were originally going to have a son, Fred Jr., but potential profits from doll and toy sales changed the offspring to a girl. (Ideal's Pebbles doll earned almost $20 million in 1963, and General Mills introduced the "Pebbles" sugar cereal.) During the fourth season, the Rubbles adopted a super-strong baby boy named Bamm-Bamm, who had been left on their doorstep, and provided a playmate for her.

Ann-Margaret's appearance led to a spate of celebrity caricatures and spoofs of other TV shows, including Candid Camera ("Peek-A-Boo Camera") and Sing Along with Mitch ("Hum Along with Herman" in "The Flintstone Canaries"). "Ladies Night at the Lodge" feels like an old I Love Lucy episode, as Betty and Wilma sneak into the Water Buffalo Lodge and get paddled for their pains. Many observers noted The Flintstones was essentially Jackie Gleason's The Honeymooners in caveman costume, but the TV parodies and the reliance on such gimmicks as aliens producing robotic versions of Fred in "Ten Little Flintstones" make it clear that the show was running out of gas. I must say of all the tv shows released on dvd The Flintstones would have to be my all-time favorite!!! When I first learned to surf the internet, I immediately pulled up info on The Flintstones and printed the complete episode list for all six seasons, so I have waited a long time for the complete fourth season to see the light of day on dvd!!!

This show just got better and better, with the addition of Bam Bam, ofcourse Pebbles needed a playmate. I just adored the episode of Ann-Madrock, she will be immortalized forever! I still laugh out loud at the episode about PEEK-A-BOO CAMERA!!! Everytime Fred and Barney get busted it's hilarious!!!

Hey, this entire set is filled with fantastic episodes but, I would have to say my all-time favorite from the fourth season would have to be when Fred joins the CaveScout/Boyscout Jamboree!!! When the boyscouts from all different countries sing Old Mac Donald in their native tongue it's just pure magic!!! This is a dvd set that I will be watching over and over!!! Thank you Warner Bros!!! Keep em coming!!!

Espero que para la próxima entrega no se cometa el mismo error e incluyan el doblaje en español.
Y para el tonto que habla de que lo importante es tener esta colección sin necesidad de otros idiomas (inglés, italiano, irlandés), solo demuestra lo ignorante que es, al no saber que no existe el idioma irlandés ya que en Irlanda se habla inglés al igual que en Estados Unidos de América) ya lo quisiera ver yo si esta colección no tuviese versión en inglés para él, seguro estaría protestando también que esta la tuviera.
En Estados Unidos, el español es el segundo idioma que más se habla en ese país y por lo tanto debería de considerarse siempre al igual que en otros productos la opción de doblaje y subtítulos en español, para una comunidad tan grande y creciente.

I'm 58 and I remember watching the Flintstones when it originally aired. Hannah-Barbera had some of the best cartoons on TV in the good old days; including the afore mentioned Flintstones, The Jetsons, Johnny Quest, Yogi Bear...oh man I could go on and on. I recently found Seasons 1 & 2 of the Flintstones at a Second and Charles (?) and absolutely loved it. I subsequently ordered Seasons 4 & 5 from Amazon. Time now to get a couple more at least! I also found the first Season of The Jetsons and Jonny Quest so I can see what direction my DVD collection is going to take for awhile!

Season four of the Flintstones finds another major change in the cast. After Fred & Wilma have Pebbles in season three it's decided by the producers that Barney & Betty should be blessed with a child also. In episode three, "Little Bamm-Bamm", they find a baby on their doorstep. In a very adult twist adoption is discussed. This was one of those things that made The Flintstones such a joy to watch; it was written with young & old alike. This is why the Flintstones still survive today; it's a multi-leveled show. Like the Warner Bros. Looney Tunes & Merrie Melodies cartoons, they were written as much for adults as they were for youngsters.

Season four opens with one of the most memorable that has a major guest star portraying herself: Ann-Margaret portraying Ann Margrock, "Ann Margrock Presents". Other highlights of the season include: "Dino Disappears" where Dino runs away from home; "The Flintstone Canaries" where Fred form a barbershop quartet to perform on "Hum Along With Herman" which is a parody of the Sing Along With Mitch TV show; "Glue for Two" where Fred & Barney are glued to the same bowling ball; "Big League Freddie" where Fred is mistaken as having major league baseball potential; "Old Lady Betty" where Betty gets a part-time job disguised as an old lady & unwittingly goes to work for counterfeiters; "Daddies Anonymous" in which Fred & Barney join a 'dad's club in order to get out of weekend work at home; "Peek-A-Boo Camera", a parody of the very popular show Candid Camera; "Ten Little Flintstones" where Fred thwarts an alien invasion; "Fred el Terrifico" in which the Flintstones & Rubbles vacation in Rockapulco; "Cave Scout Jamboree" where the two families end up camping out with thousands of Scouts; "Ladies' Night at the Lodge" in which Wilma & Betty disguise themselves in order to infiltrate a Water Buffalo Lodge meeting; "Reel Trouble" in which Fred battles an addiction of photos & home movies of Pebbles; "Son of Rockzilla" in which Fred disguises himself as Rockzilla in a Hollyrock stunt; "Bachelor Daze" where Fred & Barney reminisce how they met Wilma & Betty at the Honeyrock Hotel; & finally "Operation Switchover" in which Fred & Wilma switch jobs for a day.

It's a great season & family entertainment for all. The bonus features in this set aren't as numerous & include: "The Flintstones: One Million Years Ahead of Its Time, "Hanna-Barbera's Legendary Music Director Hoyt Curtin & audio commentaries in two episodes.
