Steven Spielberg’s The Fabelmans was a big winner at last night’s 2023 Golden Globe Awards, taking home the statue for Best Picture, Drama, and Best Director for Spielberg.

While the Globes don’t always predict the Oscars, it does seem increasingly likely that this semi-autobiographical coming-of-age story is a favorite for Best Picture at the Academy Awards. And that means, if you haven’t yet seen the movie, well, you should probably hurry up and do that.

Written and directed by Spielberg, who based the story partially on his childhood, The Fabelmans stars Gabriel LaBelle as Sammy Fabelman, a teenage aspiring filmmaker who is also dealing with the drama of his parents (played by Paul Dano and Michelle Williams) and their close friend, “Uncle” Bennie (Seth Rogen). Thankfully, if you don’t want to sit through that two-hour-and-thirty-one-minute runtime in the theaters, you can now watch The Fabelmans in the comfort of your own home. Here’s how to watch The Fabelmans online.

WHERE TO WATCH THE FABELMANS:

You can buy or rent The Fabelmans on digital platforms like Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Vudu, Google Play, and more. You can also catch The Fabelmans in a movie theater—find a showtime of The Fabelmans at a theater near you with Fandango.

IS THE FABELMANS ON STREAMING?

Yes. The Fabelmans is available to rent or buy on digital platforms like Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Vudu, Google Play, and more. The price may vary depending on which platform you use to purchase the film, but on Amazon, The Fabelmans cost $19.99 to rent and $24.99 to buy. If you rent the film, you will have 48 hours to watch it after hitting play.

The Fabelmans is not yet available on any subscription-based streaming services.

IS THE FABELMANS ON NETFLIX?

No. The Fabelmans is not on Netflix, and it will likely not be on Netflix anytime soon. The Fabelmans is a Universal Pictures movie and has a natural streaming home at Universal’s streaming service, Peacock.

That said, The Fabelmans may eventually go to Netflix, albeit not for another 4 years. A deal between Universal and Netflix gives the streaming service access to live-action films from Universal Filmed Entertainment Group about four years after they open in theaters. In the case of The Fabelmans, that means November 2026. That’s a long time to wait, so if you want to see the movie ASAP, your best bet is to rent the movie on digital or wait for it to come on Peacock.

IS THE FABELMANS ON PEACOCK?

Not yet, but we do expect to see The Fabelmans on Peacock Premium soon. Read on for more info.

WHEN WILL THE FABELMANS BE ON PEACOCK?

There is not yet a Peacock streaming release date for The Fabelmans. While most Universal movies, like  Ticket to Paradise and She Said, began streaming on Peacock Premium after a 45-day theatrical run, The Fabelmans—which has been in theaters for over 60 days, and still is not available on Peacock—seems to be a special case.

That’s likely because The Fabelmans is a contender for Best Picture at the Oscars, and Universal is hoping to get the most out of the box office. Because of that, you may have to wait until after the Oscars on March 12, 2023, to stream The Fabelmans on Peacock. But it’s also possible that The Fabelmans will arrive on Peacock after 90 days in theaters, around the first week of February 2023.

But that’s all guesswork. For now, we’ll have to wait and see. In the meantime, you can buy or rent The Fabelmans on VOD, or see the movie in theaters.
